Joe Montana wasn't very charismatic off the field either. As far as Bridgewater making adjustments at the line, you can actually watch him do it if you watch Louisville.
He sounds OK to me. Winston is the QB I would worry about being a bit tarded. <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/nUf_4mev3F8?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/nUf_4mev3F8?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
yup.. graduating from highschool early and completing a 4yr degree in 3 yrs shows an intelligence red flag. have you considered working as a professional scout or draft analyst? you are like really really good at this!!
When you have been a top prospect your entire life you get handed things, you think his professor have the guts to fail the schools allstar quarterback? Let's be real he was probably gifted his degree and or had a way eaiser path then the rest of us
Which is of course the reason why so many college athletes graduate early. Oh, wait. Maybe UH doesn't have that policy which is why Case spent 6 years there.
Didn't case spend six years cause he was red shirted twice, the typical freshman redshirt and the injury redshirt, and most college students aren't those top grade nfl talent if that was the case everyone from college would go to the nfl lol
You're entire theory gets thrown out the window when considering that TB graduated in 3 years. Maybe you didnt know that...now you do.
There's so many things to scout when looking for a QB. And even with TB there are some legitimate things to critic, his accuracy on long balls, his tendency to not run when running might be the better option, etc.. But instead of talking about these things or bringing up something relevant. They talk about an interview, a stupid interview. And if they even listened to the interview it would be easy to the see the kid is football smart. He talked about chasing perfection, about predicting what would be available before the game started, predicting Parker would get 200 yards and he does. That's impressive coming from a 20 year old kid at the time with 20 mics in his face and some fool thinks he's dumb for that? He may not speak the King's english but the football smarts this kid has is beyond the posters intelligence. The kid grew up in the worst part of Miami, half the kids didn't finish junior high. They don't speak middle class America in that part of the hood. His Mom had a hard time supporting him and his siblings. He tells of stories of sleeping in the car cause they had no rent money. I suspect he didn't have the internet in the car so he could learn from. But he got out of there and graduated a semester early. He graduated a year early from college. How can you fault him for the style of his speech. It's just ridiculous. Just read what he's coach has to say about him... "When Bridgewater got his first glimpse of Watson’s full-field progression offense, he had never seen anything like it. He was overwhelmed. So Watson told Bridgewater to start doodling: take a pad of formations, with just the offensive line printed, and draw the offense. Bridgewater recited a play and then drew it: receivers and routes, he’d identify the movement key (the defensive player they’re reading), what the progression off that movement key is, the alerts, depth of drop—every single detail. Bridgewater quickly filled up a pad and was bored by it. He needed more competition—another pillar of Bridgewater’s being—so Bridgewater put the entire Louisville offense into his Xbox football game. Then he put in the game plans for each game and threw against the coverages he would see..., It's Bridgewater’s always-working mind that sets him apart. He’s a bit of savant that way. After every series, Watson and Bridgewater go over each play. He has instant recall of the coverages. When the team installs the top 25 plays for each game plan, Bridgewater barks out the play from memory before Watson can look down at his playsheet. “I swear he has a photographic memory,” Watson said. “He’s extremely intelligent.” Extremely intelligent, that's what his coach said. Does that sound like a dumb kid? It's stupid to say he sounds dumb just because he doesn't sound like someone who graduated from Harvard or someone who could have lived in your suburban neighborhood. Just ignorant.
This happens every year. The undisputed favorite for the #1 pick gets overanalyzed, and another contender gets overhyped as being "near" him when in reality the gap is wide. Three years ago everyone was calling Cam Newton dumb for his performance on Jon Gruden's show. Blaine Gabbert and Jake Locker were shooting up the ranks. Two years ago the consensus "transcendent" talent of the past decade Andrew Luck went first, but there was actually widespread debate in the media that RG3 was his equal or superior. Thankfully the NFL franchises knew better. Now this year the top two picks, Bridgewater and Clowney, are both getting bashed to high hell. People are propping up Manziel (who probably is the second best QB in the draft but not near #1, the difference in size and discipline are substantial), Blake Bortles, and Anthony Barr. I guarantee you Bridgewater and Clowney will do just fine once they get into the NFL. People will be citing this draft as another of the examples of how pre-draft chatter is all just smoke and mirrors, how we really should just stick to our guns from earlier in the college football season and realize how dumb it is to want an inferior player just because the tape on him hasn't been dissected as well. QB's in the draft usually disappoint when they are picked for their measureables over their performance. When the knock on them is "they've got everything going on upstairs, but do they have enough tools?" I can deal with that.
Actually Teddy is being ranked as the best QB because of his measurables and not because of his performance... Especially by fans on this board because ALL THEY TALK ABOUT are measurables when it comes to Teddy. Performance wise Johnny was the better quarterback and it's not even close. When Cam came out his measurables were low (besides for his size) but he had high performance and a high ceiling. Gabbert and Locker had great measurables. And I seriously doubt Indy even considered taking RG3 over Luck. Just because Skip says RG3 should have went before Luck doesn't mean Indy felt that way. And also these quarterbacks are only being ranked so high because there are teams that need QBs at the top. But as far as overall NFL prospects none of these quarterbacks are even ranked in the top 10.
Really? Teddy is only being rank top QB necause of his measurables.. Isnt his smaller that Blake Bortles, AJ Mccarron, Boyd... If he was near Bortles measurables he would be a lock for # 1 pick.. He is being ranked # 1 because of his performances and individual play..
Measurables also means the fact that Teddy played in a pro style system, had control of his offense, good mechanics, intelligent, and accuracy _ those are the measurables people throw out for Teddy. I only brought up size as a measurable for Cam. And how many games have you seen Teddy play...???? Because if you think he performed better than Johnny _ you're trippin.
Good thing we have the combine to get more details. I expect Manziel to beat out Teddy there from athletic measurables to Wunderlic
see him play plenty, i like Manziel as well, but again Teddy just seems to have a better control of the offense a far more pre-ready system is what he played. And again and again Bridgewater's accuracy is off the charts, and he doesnt have as many INT as this other QB's do...
Manziel would have made sense had we kept Kubiak but not BOB. BOB's system doesn't require athleticism as it does looking at coverage's and making good decisions. To me this is a no-brainer that Bridgewater has to be the pick because he's got the total package.
