I have been personally asked this question several times in the last few weeks. My response has always been the same. It was just somehow part of my train of thought when composing this post.
Rockets actually lead the league in team rebounds with 10.1/game. Link here Rockets averaged 0.3 tech foul/game. Link here Rep for great effort, even though my inquisitive mind isn't completely satisfied.
LOL, mine either. There is always information out there that we amateurs are not aware of. I need to go back and bookmark every single site you and others have brought to my attention. Thanks.
Is there an unanswered question about tip rebounding here? Forgive me if I'm misinterpreting the question, but when a player tips a rebound to a teammate, the rebound can be given to either of the two players at the discretion of the official scorer. Since that wouldn't change any of your analysis, I'm probably misreading things here.
The exact same question occurred to me when writing the post. I don't know the answer. But there are a bunch of knowledgeable people reading and responding to this thread and perhaps one of them knows the answer. And how are tip ins scored? Is it just the FG, or is it an offensive rebound and a score?
I'd just like to interject that this type of thread is why this forum is fantastic. I've found so many great data sites just from browsing threads. Keep up the great work OP and contributors. If it's a slow work day tomorrow maybe I'll crank up the old stat geek in me.

This is similar to our dear Rudy T, who was frequently dissed on this board and by some national writers. I always remember a fellow coach who commented on how hard Rudy was getting his players to play. Two championships followed shortly. If we can get him enough players-- and this will probably be largely by the present roster gelling and the youngsters developing, I think McHale can do it also.
LOL. No he does not go by the moniker DarylMorey. Let us just say that he came out in opposition to one of my stats posts, and when I read his reply I turned white as a sheet and thought "I am just ****ed". It was pretty obvious who it was on the other side of the wire. He made it very clear. With an understanding of statistics and the NBA that just dropped my jaw open.
I'm lost. Your not 100% sure it was Morey. You don't know him. You don't owe him anything which means giving out his name on CFs doesn't hurt. Like I said im lost so I might be missing something.
You are going to have to trust me on this one. He defined his qualifications to critique my work, he demonstrated knowledge of the NBA that is not generally known, and he was an order of magnitude more scary than Bima when you make a mistake about the CBA. I don't owe him anything, but I owe everyone collectively on CF even less.
There are people besides Daryl Morey who know more about stats and the NBA than you... I know know, its hard to accept right?
