That's a fair point. I agree that wall got the better of Lin in the second half. Overall I think it was a wash.

With david lee that wouldn't happen. Lee would booster lins confidence

The same thing happen to Bev in game 1 Spurs vs Rockets. Tony consistently blew by Bev all night. His shots were just not falling in. Bev got so much praises from clutchfans.

Players do miss open shots from time to time, but not usually on open layups. Usually defensive pressure has something to do with that, it affects the shot.

When Parker missed those shots Bev trying to hurry him as well as inside defense played a role in that.

The same is true of wall. Lin had an effect on his shots by not giving up on the play.

Please tell me you're kidding. I like Lin, but that is a ridiculous statement.

What you mean he did very little to stop Wall, are you that dense? Lin's impact on last night's game meant nothing to you? Lin was part of the reason they went up 20 and also the reason they lost the lead as well, lol.. By saying he had no impact on Wall or the game itself gives me an indication that you are discrediting Lin for unknown reasons. What did wall do, bring them back to a 4 point lead and then what? Remember now Lin is a serviceable point guard and yet he still managed his own, so I'm confused? What the hell are you arguing about, Marshall now into the mix?? Are you talking about missed jumpers, but what does that mean exactly???

Glad they were able to come back and win after that weak 4th qtr.

Much is being said of eye test vs. stats; can we just pick one? (I don't care which one, just pick one so I know how to be involved in a conversation.)

    T. Jones with another GREAT game...great is relative, but for him, its hugely great. :D While I thoroughly enjoy watching him play I still think he's about a half second behind. But man, once he makes up for that half second, he's going to be trouble for the league.

    Happy for the win boys!

The kind of basketball I enjoy watching.

We just need to keep the intensity all four quarters. Other than losing the lead :(, this was the most beautiful game I've seen this season...play wise.

Did someone say something important about Lin and Beverley? I don't want to miss out on anything new and exciting.

It basically came down to the Rockets' 2Q and the Wizards' AWESOME 7 minutes in the 4Q. Be happy Rox pulled it out in the last 3 mins of 4Q instead of focusing on giving up the lead. We had a 20+ point lead, but still ended up winning by 7.

I don't see giving up a 20 point lead we had in the 2Q as bad because Rockets aren't always going to maintain big leads in the first half. No NBA team does. Basketball is a game of several runs, we had ours in the second quarter then we had some turnovers and went cold when the Wiz went on their run in the fourth. That happens esp. in a league with the best offensive basketball players in the world.

And on those turnovers and missed shots and offensive fouls and missed free throws... what I do see often is Dwight losing his focus through the course of the game. He has spells of complete dominance, but later in the game, I see him get sloppy and lose that focus. The pattern I see is when he dominates or plays well early, he gets overconfident and careless later in the game which equals weak passes, lack of effort, missed free throws...

...and when bad calls go against Dwight, the way he reacts to them are a concern. He's so exasperated with 2-3 calls against him every game. Players argue with calls all the time, but they don't seem to take them as personally as Dwight does sometimes.

Gumblin is to Eli Manning as "LOH" are to Jeremy Lin

I love my Giants. I want every Giant to do well.

However, if Eli struggles I'll make damn sure that all the Eli homers get an earful because they're so freaking annoying.

Wall didn't shoot as much earlier, but later on the whole team got steam, and unfortunately for rockets everyone on team was backpedalling and was not ready to play any defense. They scored a bunch of transition plays too and rockets were just not ready on defense and didn't match the energy or play with any intensity.

Wall's shooting avg is terrible, but he has a 20PER and avgs 19 and 8 per game. He shoots a terrible percentage and Lin + team held him to him shooting well below average. honestly, just force wall toshoot jumpers and and have dwight meet him in the paint on drives. Dwight didnt help much the first few times wall went nuts

Yeah so if a player Lin plays against shoots a bad FG, it's due to missed open shots and layups. lawl. Only Lin is held to this standard.

Jeremy Lin was 4/12 and had 4 turnovers against Lakers, what a great defender Kendall Marshall is ...

It looks like Lin is the only one who gets bashed when someone compliments him...

To be fair, there were many, many, many Lin fans who said TP absolutely lit Bev up -- and even a few who characterized him as a "defensive liability" after that game. You are correct regarding hypocrisy, but it definitely runs both ways.

Trade one offensively skilled player who plays selective defense for another offensively skilled player who plays selective defense. Not sure if serious.

Except it seems one kind of hypocrisy has the veil of legitimacy on here, through the distribution of rep and so forth.
