I don't understand this argument. No overwhelmingly popular FPS shooter is "realistic," they aren't even close. Tactical shooter ≠ realistic.

ArmA 2 is the only widely successful "realistic" shooter. Battlefield, CoD, Counter-Strike, etc... those aren't even close to realistic. Operation Flashpoint also tries to be realistic, but isn't overwhelmingly successful in terms of sales.

America's Army and Project Reality mod for BF2 were about as "real" as shooters have gotten thus far. Realism doesn't translate into fun, because gamers tend to have short attention spans and little patience.

You are talking about TacticalShooter/Fist Person Shooters where 1-3 guys take out 100 or so. Seeing though cars, having huge red arrows on bad guys, and jumping up and down to avoid bullets isn't fun for me.

Ghost Recon had most maps with your 6 guys vs 10 or 12 bad guys. You were forced to locate good kill zones and coordinate attacks because if the enemy spotted you, you were dead.

Says the guy with over 15k posts surfing a console war video game thread. I don't care to hang with you either.

Seriously, why are you posting here if you think you're better than everyone here?

I really enjoyed Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway. I'm curious to see Furious Four or whatever it's called now.

What is there to not understand? That's what they want, something more realistic like America's Army. Personally, I haven't played Titanfall but I've played enough shooters to know it's going to be legit. I'll be splitting my time between it and Destiny. A lot of people prefer less arcadey action, however. That's their preference.

I agree with him actually, you sound like a "boner killer". That post I edited was originally for you, but I decided to be nice.

lol so true. It's sad to know that many of those console fanboys are actually adults.

on a side note, only 2 more months for Titanfall.

Titanfall is an entirely new genre of shooter, and that is why it is so amazing (and was so fun to play). There are literally 10 different ways to come at your opponents as you aren't constrained to any single choke point.

The gameplay is very fast paced, and the closest thing I can recall being as quick would be Quake 3 or Unreal Tournament of days past. With that said, it is every bit as tactical as other modern military shooters because of the added complexity from you, and your enemies having 10 different ways to engage one another.

Remember, it is being made by the guys who built CoD MW1 and MW2 multiplayer... probably the best and most balanced modern military shooter multiplayers ever.

I still plan on buying titanfall, but the news of 6 v 6 with so many AI combatants in a multiplayer match has deflated my hype.

Trust me, it lives up to the hype. Since you can move so quickly and scale walls it feels like much more than 6 vs 6.

This blog post explains the reasoning well. They didn't have more players, because it didn't feel right. For once, a developer knows what is best and sticks to their guns. I love Battlefield 4, but 32 vs 32 is terrible a lot of the time... and don't even get me started on CoD and spawning right in front of enemies in 16 vs 16 and 24 vs 24 maps.

    http://www.polygon.com/2014/1/9/529...packed-with-nearly-50-combatants-including-ai

The team made the only CoD multiplayers worth a damn, so I have faith in them.

CoD doesn't have any 16vs16 or 24vs24 maps .....you sure you know what you're talking about man? Max player count for CoD has been 9v9.

And I read that article. There can be 48 combatants. 12 real players, and 36 AI PLAYERS. That mean 75% of the combatants are going to be AI players.

I've also heard the game is slow paced at times until a titan comes out, and here you are saying it is some ultra fast paced game. I don't know who to believe.

The reason why 6v6 blows is because most of the players you face aren't even going to be real players, they'll be AI. And also, that means most people in a lobby will end up with >10 kills - based on reading impressions which is very lousy for a 'fast paced' game. how do you explain that?

People really need to stop complaining about a game they haven't played. If it sucks when it comes out, that's fine, but nitpicking about player counts and activity levels when you have no clue is really silly. As best I can tell only one person here has played it and he's in love with it. That's good enough for me.

All I said was PC is best for first person shooters. I prefer precision and skill when it comes to aiming. Most of my deaths on PS4 come from some teenagers on adderall who memorize the maps all the way down to the spawns. I take two steps and I die because people camp the spawns.

I know it's COD, but generally speaking PC is the way to go for first person shooters as long as the gaming companies do their job and take care of cheaters.

If that kills your boner then so be it. I don't know why you're posting with a boner anyways.

I agree with Swish. It's sad that I can't have a negative opinion about 1 genre of gaming on consoles. NBA 2k is good and it should get better with each installment. The first one was pretty much a beta to me.

Some of you are adults and get defensive over a piece of plastic. It's sad. I spent the same money as you and that's my opinion on the subject.

Previous CoD had far more players, especially on PC custom servers. CoD is terrible with lots of players and is why they scaled it back this generation.

Battlefield, while 32 vs. 32 can be fun, on many maps and game modes it is just ridiculous.

The host can make Titanfall 6v6 real players, and add in AI or not add in AI. You'll be able to customize the map. Gears of War multilplayer is great with 5v5. More players does not make for a better game. If a game is balanced and fun with good mechanics, it could be 2v2 and be a blast.

I have played Titanfall several times, you can take my opinion or not. But every single person I spoke to that played it (literally hundreds at PAX Prime) were absolutely blown away by it. I stood in line for about 20 hours total over 5 days to play it, because it is that good.

    You're doing it wrong.

The only people talking down Titanfall is PS4 fanboys. They hate it's only MS platforms (PC, One and 360). If it was a Sony Exclusive, they would be saying it is the killer game that will win the Next Gen console war and end the Xbox One.
