Easily one of the best 2012 releases I've played, if not the best. Meele Combat is where this game shines!!!

More or less a True Crime game. Started as original IP, then Activision changed it into a True Crime game because who wants a new IP? While in development, Activision cancelled the game because it wasn't CoD/WoW/etc. (i.e., didn't have as good of a profit margin). Square-Enix picked it up, but didn't have rights to the True Crime name, so it became Sleeping Dogs.

Does seem like a really nice game. Impressed by what little I've seen of the PC version.

I bought it at launch for all of the cool TF2 items that came bundled with it. Ended up loving it. It is like a GTA set in China. If you can pick it up for cheap on Steam, I highly recommend it!

It's free to download on Xbox until the 15th BTW. Haven't played it yet though.

Loved the game, a tad too short though. Would love a sequel.
Always bumped my head when this song came on:

I'm going to play this again.
This game was fun, but I stopped playing because my system sucked ass.
Now that I dropped some cash on a new build I'm going to play the **** out of this game.

Funny this thread popped up. I've been playing this lately after picking it up on Steam during the holidays for $5.

It's a really great game. As mentioned is basically GTA in Hong Kong. And the combat system is basically from the Batman series. It definitely achieves it's goal of playing like a Hong Kong mob movie. I'm actually pretty eager to see how the story ends, I'm probably 2/3 through so far.

It reminds me of the Young and Dangerous movies of anyone is familiar.

Good call on this one. I lost interest in it after the change from True Crime to Sleeping Dogs. Read some pretty bad previews about the gameplay. Downloaded the demo a few months back and promptly deleted it.
I actually saw it was free a few hours ago and still didn't have any interest. Reading some of your comments peaked my interest. Needless to say, I downloaded it an hour ago and I'm pretty impressed. Like someone said it's like GTA set in China.

Sidenote: Games like this always make me wish Sega finally comes through with Shenmue 3 lol

Shen-mue 2 was definitely a classic....a lot of walking, cheesy character dialogue, and button mashing but still a classic lol

Tsk, tsk.... I got it for free from Xbox live...

It's quite an addictive game, with engaging characters to boot...

I should've seen that conversational drive with the "soon to be bride" as an emotional setup - though I did suspect something terrible might happen when "the wedding" became an integral checkpoint... She was such a sweet young woman, I still held out hope that it'd result as no more than a momentary reprieve in an otherwise intense sequence of events... Up till the very end, I assumed her screaming was due to her soon-to-be groom dying in her arms, not the other way around...
