+1, very similar polarity to Harden's game. All offense and no defense at the same time, ammo for both haters and fans.

"I think today we had a lot better spacing," Lin said after finishing the game with 18 points and 8 assists. "We were in a lot of different positions where we had guys rolling down the middle, playing pick-and-roll with space, a stretched floor. That's kind of what I'm most comfortable with obviously and today we got back to doing that a little bit more. It freed up some lanes.

"Anytime you have that going, the defense is essentially at your mercy as long as you keep hitting some shots and guys hit a lot of shots today."

 

That's a stretch. Lin is prone to causing turnovers under pressure, game plan could be targeting the easiest TO-prone player on the court.

 

Lin is underrated and undervalued

Lin is one of the best young combo guards in the league. This year, he has been asked to be the lead ball handler, the microwave scorer off the bench, the shooting guard, the spot up shooter and to make plays late in the shot clock. He is often asked to shift his role in the same game or even in the same possession. He has handled those roles with efficiency despite playing alongside a ball dominant guard.

Defensively, he is asked to shut down the opposing PG and SG, help his often ungrateful backcourt on double teams and help out James Harden. He has clearly improved defensively, and has been stellar since returning from injury.

He should be the starter and should play the bulk of minutes. The only way this team gets deep into the playoffs is if Jeremy Lin is able to integrate his skillsets successfully with those of Harden and Howard. He did so in this game against Washington. The San Antonio game is another notable performance (among others).

 

That has nothing to do with it. Every single player is tackled when the opposing team wants to stop them.

Turnover prone under pressure? Sure, you are right. I saw Lin was on the floor and it was nearly a turnover. But he was playing against two wizards. Please tell me a PG in the league who can always play against two opponents?

 

Walls is very quick and few can contain him. The reason Lin can match up better is because Lin is a strong 6-3/200. He had better chance to bump Walls off track. Brooks is too small/light, which will have a hard time with Walls. I think Bev's defense style could also work.

3 mi left in the 3Q (when Lin was taking a breather) till 3min left in 4Q was one of the worst offensive team plays I have watched in NBA this season. For some reason, when Harden held the ball at top of key, most times, Rockets players stopped to move. I think Harden should realize that and allow the ball movement for the first 12 sec of shot clock and then if nothing there, back to him for ISO.
