Woj always pulls the correct personnel movement info. So he's probably one of the most, if not THE most, respected news breakers. But a lot of his opinion pieces are mostly subjective blasting of players he doesn't like.

That said, J.R. Smith is a known headcase. Nothing should be too surprising concerning him.

Speak for yourself... I'd say Woj respected by 99% of the NBA community as a writer. His columns are actually my favorite thing about him, and I don't think they're overly dramatic at all. I think they're honest.

However, I can see how it would seem sensationalist relative to most others in modern media, who think the path to credibility is to kiss asses and befriend their way into a star's inner circle (Rudolph, Broussard, etc.). Woj, however, takes an old-school approach and is bluntly honest. It works because players and agents know he's going to tell it like it is, and he's too big of a player to be ignored.

To me, it's refreshing. I love this stuff.

Yeah, I think you're right. I don't know why I would even question in when JR Smith is the subject.

Why do you think he went to China?

He blew through most of his money by the lockout year.

I recall that Wojnarowski actually wrote quite negatively about Lebron at the time of the "Decision," mostly about how let a bunch of personal friends handle his business leading to that PR disaster. But Woj was not the only one one who said that Lebron dealt with things badly at that time-- probably because Lebron in fact did deal with that situation badly and even Lebron himself later regretted at least how he made a TV special out of it.

Woj has not been nearly as negative about Lebron in recent years, probably because that, as an objective matter, Lebron did become a more mature person and a more savvy professional (unlike some people) and has not done much since then to warrant negative opinions.

Well, if Woj is actually telling it like it is, then it isn't sensationalism, but there is no way of knowing this because Woj is a hack who will pander to people emotions to get website hits. Look at the hit parade he put on LeBron back when hating him was the cool thing to do. This guy should write for the Enquirer.

Pretty sure Woj gets most of his hits from breaking various news rather than his opinion pieces.

Really? His posts bashing LeBron when he was on the Cavs were talked about a lot here.
