The issue is neither Lin nor Bev are top 15 to top 20 point guards in this league. We need to make an upgrade at the PG position whenever we have the opportunity.

He'd upgrade any of the players (Harden for LeBron? Sold!). The much more interesting question is what he considers an upgrade. What I'd love to know is not so much what he could get for JLin as what offers he'd turn down.

That's our weakest position. Lin gets lit up every other night and the offense sucks with Bev.

I love how Lin fans uphold every compliment by Morey as evidence, never mind that we have tried to trade Lin MULTIPLE times already to no avail, because *ding ding ding* NO ONE WANTS HIM at least not with the contract he has. Lets put it this way, if everyone thought Lin was as good as his fans do, he would have been gone by now. Bad coaching (however erroneously perceived) does not cause a team to completely forgo a player, neither does race.

That's true. PF with TJones is more reliable than PG with Lin or Bev

What we need is a combo of Lin and Bev but even that would not be great but it would suffice for now

LOFs have fallen short multiple times. It's now about blaming others for his inconsistent play. Light work

Lin does not get lit up every other night... He plays pretty good defense last 10 games or so. And the offense has been oke with Bev, although it has been a while since we saw him.

The bench has been the problem. When Bev gets back, Lin will improve the bench.

Agree. They are both inconsistent. And so is AB, which doesn't help.

One way I can think of for this is to show the opposing team's efficiency with him on the floor game by game, or maybe some combination of that and the offensive production of the player he's matched up against. But its very difficult to obtain those numbers without a heavily involved analysis of the play-by-play.

Another approach might be to just look at his steals, blocks, fouls, and defensive rebounds (the "defensive" box score stats), which would be very easy to do, but that doesn't capture defensive performance particularly well.

Player's FG shooting in three straight games in December:
    6 for 19; 31.5% shooting
    3 for 8; 37.5% shooting
    4 for 13; 30.7% shooting
In these three games, his 3 point shooting - a horrible 1 for 10.

Whose stat lines are these? It's Chris Paul's, superstar ee, so cp3 suck bigtime yet haters in denial, so even the superstar go through this but wait i forgot, Jlin shouldnt be slumping coz he is not all star yet...double standards of haters...

LOH goes on Jeremy Lin fan site, doesn't like what they read, comes back to CF GARM, resurrects this tired thread and vents out frustration like you see here. LOH takes the bait every single time.

I don't know if I can make it through all 30-some pages so I'll just regurgitate what others have surely said.

The bad: He needs to work on his passing, particularly in terms of getting the ball to Howard (he's not alone in this--Brooks is the only player good at it). Over the last 10 games he is averaging 3.8 turnovers a game. Although he is turning the ball over more, he is also getting about 2/3 of the steals he got last year. A lot of his turnovers come from him flailing in the lane (similar to Harden). He puts in a really solid effort on defense but takes a lot of risks and is slow in lateral movement. He looks like Samuel L. Jackson in Unbreakable every time he receives contact driving to the basket. He is on the floor staring at the refs while the other team is running the fast break. Also... How does he get hit in the face every game? Is he leading with his face rather than his shoulders? He could use a Rip Hamilton mask.

The good: he is continuing to improve at shooting 3s and his percentage for the year is good. His overall FG% is up from last year. His overall rebounding has slightly improved from last year as well, despite being relegated to the 3-line for most of the game on offense (his defensive rebounding has advanced while his offensive rebounding has declined).

The ugly: Eh, nothing to really say here. I'm happy with his performance. He is earning his contract. There are relevant criticisms of everyone on the Rockets except Howard (the FTs were to be expected), Terrence Jones (he is a 2nd year player) and Harden over the last 3 games. If you spend all of your time dissing these players you obviously have some sort of resentment/jealousy of them. We should be grateful to have such a team without any serious injuries (jinx).

multiple times? the two times that were rumored were 1) in the summer because morey thought chris paul was interested in coming, and 2) recently for deron williams.

have not heard of any other rumors out there for another specific player. it's not a fire sale you think it is.

and yes, morey has tried to trade him because on this team, he is very much expendable. bev is a capable starter on this team. any offensive drop off could be made up by harden, chandler, and the addition of dwight. but from all the rumors we've heard since this summer, he will only be traded for a significant piece.

Didn't Morey said in the interview that Lin was the best person on the team at throwing entry passes to Dwight? Do you think that's another sales pitch to increase Lin's trade value?

While his offense production has slipped, and I missed the NYK game so I don't know how he performed in that game. I thought his defense improved a lot, particularly in what I saw against Parker and Conley. He was able to stay in front of them and was pretty solid trying to bother the opposing PGs. I thought he completely neutralized kendall marshall although he is just a d leaguer.

Then again these are just my eye test and I haven't seen a lot of stats on that.

I do he needs to gain more experience on the help defense. Yes, indeed he helps too much and sag off too much space, but sometimes you just have to gamble. One example was in the OKC game Kevin Durant drove by Parson, Lin came to help, KD kicked it to the perimeter and a 3 pointer. On that particular play, you rather came to help defend Kevin Durant, especially he was destroying us that day. I think that particular play the probability of KD to score was much higher than a 3 pointer, it was a gamble, but we lost. I think with time and experience he could probably get a good feeling on help defense.

I don't know what's the expectation on him this year, whether its the fans, his fans, or the Rocket's. We are winning games and he is doing fine so far. Stats wise I think he is doing fine, but in games when he screws up he really screwed up.....boy when make TOs or air balls, they looked really REALLY bad for some reasons

I know this is a Jeremy Lin highlight, but you can see that he has been playing very good defense here against the Lakers.

You sound upset. Lin isn't even in the same conversation as Paul
