Eric Mangini might be coming to Houston now ..so which one is better "New England Texans" or "Houston Patriots"

Forget the draft, just play them.
If (if) we land both Crennel and Mangini as our coordinators, we will have an OUTSTANDING staff in place. I would be thrilled.
Do you think they agree on something today? I would think you would have to, to avoid any other team to jump in... I really think the Texans have Romeo locked up for DC, they just cant announced because than he cant coach the East/West Game..
If they hire Munchak that could be announced today, but I doubt Crennel or Mangenius (lol) would be announced today. Mangini due to playoffs and Crennel due to whatever reason they haven't hired him as of yet.
Are we sure the whole East-West Shrine thing is the reason? I know people have SAID it's a rule, but has anyone seen that confirmed? Crennel coached it a few years ago when he had a job, Childress coached it when it looked like he had a job still,.
yea i havent seen confirmed, but i remeber Wade Phillips wasnt hired until he coached that game... I think the hiring of the Ohio coach was a very telling details Romeo would be hired.. I think he played for Romeo, and would assume he wanted him in the staff.. I would say Romeo gave a list to Obrien on who he wanted on his team / Just a opinion on my side..
Good opinion because they are certainly hiring a lot of defensive position coaches without having a DC in place.
another thing .. There were some confirmations that alot of the Penn State staff turned in and the assumption was made because Obrien will bring them to Houston.. I have yet to see any valid confirmation on any of this guys being hired by the Texans.. Are they in the Texans Website.. I assume Romeo brought his list and we are going to begin to see some of the coaches hired that he wants
The fact that there is not a peep about interviewing or interest in any other DC candidate leads me to believe RC has the job. Probably just some kind of legal/contractual holdup (maybe with his KC deal still in place) or the Shrine Game duties.
We don't know specifically what his job would be. When Kubiak hired Mike Sherman, he became assistant head coach and offensive consultant/assistant. He didn't become OC until the next year. Regardless, you might think that whatever OC we do get will largely be filling a Dennison type role. That O'Brien will still be in charge of the offense.
