love didnt get the ball the last play and the play before a pick and roll was run with pek and rubio gets trapped and throws the ball away. How you don't even try to get your best player (by a good margin) involved in your last 2 plays in a coin flip game is beyond me - and considering that this isnt the first time either. granted martin got off a great layup but of course its the 4th qtr so martin missed it pretty badly. Still as a franchise you would rather live with Kevin Love missing those shots than Martin
Don't think Love could complain this game since he was 4-20. Although I do think he probably should have had a play drawn up for him since he has hit a few game winners (disregarding the choke against OKC).
Though I think Adelman is a bit overrated on this board, I think it'd be unfair to blame him for the T-Wolves struggles. With most of the new coaches being awesome Adelman probably ranks somewhere in the middle of the pack among coaches now, but the Wolves roster just isn't that great. Rubio is a bad fit for Adelman's offense -- they have to check down to secondary options a gazillion times a game just because Rubio can't shot. Brewer is useless in the halfcourt. Their bench is bad. Martin isn't quite who he used to be. Love and Pek are a good combo on offense, but terrible on defense... and as good as Love is, he's not overly awesome creating his own shot (when the defense gets tight)... hence their struggles late. PG can't shoot. SG & SF can't dribble. Love isn't Dirk (in terms of shot-creation).
Love and Barea don't like each other, maybe? From 2012 <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/3IgC4j51ULM?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Classic Kevin Martin. Rubio was very bad down the stretch. Love was bad the whole game, but you've gotta go to him.
coach doesnt miss jumpers , layups and lets guys get easy layups. Players play like crap and coach is blammed is getting old
Minny is 0-10 in games decided by four points or less. Can you imagine the uproar here if McHale sported a record near as bad?
Good analysis. Minnesota really needs to blow things up. They are where the Rockets were a couple of years ago, with the same coach. Not a terrible team, but they have no chance of going far in the playoffs.
I love Adelman's offense when it's run by the right personnel but I think we all know from his time here that he is pretty horrible at diagramming last second plays. I can remember on few occasions when the ball was in-bounded to the shooter without even having him run off screens basically leaving Kevin Martin or Aaron Brooks to try to make their own.
