Yeah; the fact he's literally 1-2 votes short is going to be a story with legs and probably assure him of induction next year, I'd guess. (Who can tell with these morons, though?)
Looking at the Yes/No vote and seeing how many people voted yes last year, but didn't vote yes this year looks like the high number of potential candidates hurt Biggio on getting in this year. What a shame, and what a crock of s***
It looks like the hip thing to do now (post your vote online) More writers will do it next year too. And unless they are idiots like Chass and Gomez, they will vote for biggio because there is no sane reason not to.
Technically it was his vote but it was the readers' of deadspin voting on who they want on the ballot.

This year's crowded ballot hurt Biggio, next year will be a crowded ballot too. Smoltz, Randy Johnson, and Pedro Martinez are just three that will be added next year to the list. And of course Nomar comes up and he played for all the teams with the heavy media attention, unlike Biggio. Nomar was lucky to play for the teams he did.
I don't want to be in denial anymore because I don't think Bagwell will ever get in. This realization came way before he was HOF eligible, before he retired, and before the witch hunt for PED users came out. This realization came when the public vote put Mark McGwire on the All-Century Team back in 1999. Granted, this was after he was swatting homers left and right but that was all it took for me to know how Bagwell (and maybe Houston sports legends) is viewed nationally. The anger I had for something sort of trivial like a team voted on by fans actually turned out to be real disappointment sprinkled in with anger for the baseball HOF now. As far as Biggio, I'm sure the writers will right their wrongs next year (74.8% sure) and he'll get in. But it's still a sad day when respected (well at least in my eyes and from their writing over the years) writers like Gammons, Stark, and Olney can make logical decisions and vote Biggio in and people that want to make a name for themselves or people that probably made their decisions by seeing where their semen landed on the ballot (I hate Pedro Gomez) still gets to vote.

Eventually he will. 2016 is going to be a big year for him, as it will be a weaker ballot. Doesn't need to get in then, but needs to get up into the 60s.
Just feel robbed that Biggio didn't get in.. Sadly I agree with the other posters that Bagwell will probably never get in. It doesn't bode well when the votes go down. As a commentator MN sports talk radio pointed out regarding why Jack Morris didn't get in. It's not like these guys are racking up new stats so you just end up looking at the same stats each year. If they don't see the votes rising it's not going to happen.
