YES!! Sign him up, then immediately send him to the Vipers! This would send Asik a clear message to put his big boy pants on or suffer the wrath of Morey! It's amazing how a bad attitude can produce long term fictitious injuries... ....... ....... .......
I feel like he would bring more problems behind the scenes than he would produce on the court. Feels like another Royce white situation. I'd pass.
As crazy as most of you think he is, he does have championship experience under his belt. Maybe he could bring some of that Kobe motivational magic with him. As a matter of fact, he is more experienced in than any other player on the team in that aspect.
The only thing thats gonna be different is that Bynum is gonna play in games unlike Royce White who hasn't played.
Yeah right. Our wonderful line-up experiments this year: Twin Towers Better Fit Beverley Two dismal failures!!! FIRE MCHALE!!!
I've been anti-Bynum since his Laker days. Back then, he was a bad injury bet. Now, we can add lack of motivation and character issues? Pass.
People thought Harden was lazy and disinterested? Lol. For entertainment purposes though, I hope we land him.
If He took a whole year off too work on recovering and to train with Dawson, Hakeem and McHale, came back slow, then he might be able to play like 80% on how he used to. It will have to take a lot patience and effort from him though.
I am curious as to what the reason was for Bynum's suspension by the Cavs noted as "conduct detrimental to the team." Did he really sleep with the assistant coach's wife? Didn't Bynum say he didn't want to play basketball anymore?? lol... He probably wants to pursue a bowling career
http://espn.go.com/blog/marc-stein/post/_/id/1098/andrew-bynum-could-land-with-new-team-soon RENO, Nev. -- Andrew Bynum clears waivers Thursday at 5 p.m. And it sounds as though he won't have to wait too much longer after that to have a new employer. ESPN's Chris Broussard reported Wednesday morning that eight teams called Bynum's agent, David Lee, in the wake of Bynum's immediate release by Chicago, which followed the Bulls' acquisition of the enigmatic center and his cap-friendly contract from Cleveland shortly after midnight Monday in exchange for Luol Deng and three future draft picks. Broussard's report listed playing time, contender status and money as the three main factors Bynum is weighing as he decides where to head next. According to the latest rumbles here at the D-League Showcase in Reno, Bynum is confident of landing an offer from an upper-tier team that will provide both minutes and a salary above the league minimum. That would appear to rule out the Dallas Mavericks, who took a long look at Bynum in the summer and who, according to Stein Line Live sources, are among the eight teams that have registered interest in Bynum this week. The Mavs only have the league minimum to offer; Bynum's camp clearly believes it can get more. The two-time champs from Miami, who've been widely presumed to be interested from the moment it became apparent right after Christmas that Bynum's time in Cleveland was coming to an end, still have mid-level exception money to spend if the Heat are inclined to add a second reclamation project to their center rotation alongside Greg Oden. Other top contenders with mid-level money still available to spend, for the record, include Indiana and Oklahoma City. The Los Angeles Clippers, meanwhile, are the other team frequently mentioned along with Miami as Bynum's foremost suitors. The Clips, though, share the same problem as Dallas in terms of limited funds to offer. Clippers coach Doc Rivers, furthermore, stopped well short of saying L.A. would be at the front of the line when he was asked about Bynum on Tuesday, insisting that he and his front-office staff have "had very few discussions about anyone big right now" and that the Clips are "far more focused on the perimeter part of our team" after losing Chris Paul for up to six weeks. Is that merely a smokescreen from Doc? All the latest signals suggest we'll have an answer to that one sooner rather than later ... perhaps as early as Friday.
Let's make something clear. Asik is no longer in the picture. That being said, it doesn't mean Bynum is the answer but for the league minimum, why not. Cut him if it doesn't work. He played with Kobe and didn't have a problem and everybody hates Kobe, "tell me how my * taste".
