I mean, a 3-year-old could understand why this makes no sense as long as Asik is still in the picture.
League source tells Yahoo: "He doesn't want to play basketball anymore. He never liked it that much in first place." So much for THAT idea.
Yeah.. Situations matter. I don't expect him to be the all star center he was in LA, but if that was where he didn't like basketball, he sure was good at it. Honestly the way the situation played out, he never like Cleveland, he just could get the most money from them and he had this planned the whole time.
He's stiffed two teams in a row. That's not a good sign. Why do you think he'd be so gung-ho to play backup center in Houston?
Philly going nowhere, wasn't able to play anyway.. Cleveland going nowhere. That also changes a lot. Understand the teams that he's deciding between are all playoff teams. This changes a lot.
I want the Rox to sign Bynum but not to try out that Twin Towers bull****. Bring Bynum off the bench like they are supposed to.
That's just it. Asik is not in the picture. He is on the side trippin with himself. We need someone out there now. Asik is all but gone.
But Asik, whether he's on the roster or not, really isn't in the picture. For all intents and purposes, we don't have a backup for Dwight, simply because Asik hasn't/won't play.
If we ever landed Bynum, the coaching staff would need to bring an extra tampon: one for Asik and one for Bynum. Jokes aside, bring him in. We need a backup 5 the worst way and I guess this the worst way. Lol.
Bynum when half way motivated is a better option than any of the other centers that we have been looking at of recent. Even better than Asik.
Twin Towers didn't work... but what about the TRIPLE TOWERS lineup? The Tower Trifecta? The Turrible Treble Towers? (just joking!) I am all for signing Bynum as Dwights backup as long as his attitude doesn't distract the team and the contract is reasonable.
Barring something unforeseen (trade or injury setback), Asik is going to be back at some point. Possibly soon. I get it: it's frustrating not having a real backup for Dwight, but our best short-term solution to the problem is already in-house.
