I was thinking it was going to move towards $331. the $354 figure was support for past 30-40 days. That finally broke today, so I think that may be the ceiling now. I'm not sure if it can go above $345 actually for the time being. I think it would just go sideways and maybe down.

But like anything NFLX is always one $10 bump away given some news release on contect release or a broker upgrade if that were to happen (a broker going against MS downgrade) ha ha

TWTR announced after the market closed today (and after the stock tanked) that they will release earnings on Feb 5.

    Thoughts?

    my 2 cents

TWTR has just began to tap into their revenue potential by finding new ways to monetize the advertising aspect of the product.

with that being said, i wouldn't be surprised if they fell short of earnings, but i'm optimistic with the stock in the long run.

i've tried to stay out of this stock given that it's young and volatile, but if there is a significant dip due to coming up short in their earnings it will be hard not to buy.

Man wish I had picked up MDBX last month. I was thinking about it.

It is apparently the redbox of weed.

Why does a stocks price move downward after a large investment firm comes out with a strong buy recommendation and a target price higher than the existing price (by 10-20%)? I would've thought the price would immediately go up. Just curious.

How long ago was the upgrade? Also what stock are you talking about? There are multiple factors in play as to daily movements in the price of a company.

The article was posted this morning...and it followed a number of other articles over the past few weeks upgrading the outlook. The stock is MGM. I've been really long on them and am trying really hard to identify a peak so that I can unload it.

What drew my question is that the article was posted today saying Morgan Stanley was giving a weighty thumbs up to MGM...and for the first portion of the day, MGM was down. Current price is around $24.75 - 24.90, but what I was curious about is that the article was posted and the price was down about .10 - .14 for the day. But now...later in the day, MGM has bumped upward to a plus .18 and climbing...which makes me wonder why it started down and then took off upwards. Those silly investors.

Man I put in a buy order this AM for IPCI just on a gut feeling but I wanted a nice round number of shares for a nice round price which was just a few pennies below buying at market. Logged off and walked away...back on and it popped 15-20% (dropping back) but never dropped to pickup my buy before popping.

(kicking myself for a few bucks)

No news just someone buying. Could be a fat finger accident. The thing with this is I think a lot of people got caught buying on the last spike and have been way underwater on this. So when it does pop, I would expect some people selling with a sense of relief. It dropped back 10-15% from the pop yesterday by EOD. ie. Selling on pops and then rebuying after big drops is my "strategy" on this one.

    Someone knows something..

Yesterday after hours 1 million shares were bought in 20 mins after which 2 million more in volume moved

It could be any of their generic pending approvals or their rexista approval, or a partnership

Not sure if this belongs in here or if it's already been posted, but this is a question on 401k.

I have a 401k with Great West and so far my investments are set at Moderately Aggressive (which I modified about 3 years ago and haven't touched it since) and the returns so far are around 22%. I've just logged into their website and they have this strategy tool where they give me some options and retirement projections based on portfolio, age, etc.

So the first option is that I can use this software tool from Ibbotson Associates (not sure if they're known) and they will make a one time adjustment. This fee will be $6.25 a quarter or $25 a year.

Next option is that they will manage my account, make all the transactions by investment professionals, and have progress reports. This fee is 0.65% a quarter.

I don't really mess with my portfolio that much, and I thought 22% return is pretty good. Should I just sit back, or go with one of these other options?

If its due to fat finger effect then it's because of ICPT then?

    The stock that quadrupled yesterday.

    Either way I'm thankful.

I was stuck when I bought it when it reached $5.

So I decided to go long.

I cut some losses with the pop yesterday.

Well I don't think it's the fat finger effect now.

    You might be right Ganja.

that would be an obese finger... 1 million block buy on accident? dont think so... lol

even if someone doesn't know something, the fact that a huge block was bought means they love these prices and are anticipating great rallies soon

    not just speculating..

any one of the many generics they have in line could be approved...

or rexista, their abuse resistant, extended release hydrocodone narcotic could be on the way or pending partnership deal

Lol that's what I meant when I said the fat finger effect.

The people were probably thinking about ICPT.

    But put the wrong symbols.

But I don't think that's the case now.

    speaking of TNXP,

does anyone think this keeps rising all the way til approval second half this year, or it stalls out and goes sideways for a while after this run up?

Man MGM has to be the best thing I have bought recently. Got in around 13 bucks a couple months ago. Its skyrocketing. The reason being that their profits are exploding in Macau right now. That is without even a casino on the Cotai Strip (which is like the vegas strip). They have the land, I think they are going to start building sometime this year. Once that goes up I can see profits will go up even higher. Macau has a lot of room to grow, I tried to book a hotel in Macau during a vacation every single hotel on the Cotai strip was booked full unless you wanted to pay 3000 USD dollars for a room.

What is even more insane is that the fill rates for all of MGM's properties are at like 91% or something throughout the year. That is nuts.

I don't see this stock going anywhere but up.
