I don't remember Peyton's first 2 seasons so maybe Luck is better at this point in their respective careers, but he has a long ass way to go to be the QB Manning is, and that kind of improvement is far from guaranteed.
I think you are on target with that one. JF is going to be special. Like you say, a huge success or a giant disappointment. I don't think he is as injury prone as people are making out. I don't think there has ever been anyone like him, so it is impossible to project his success or failure in the NFL. I kind of think that he is going to become the baddest, most exciting QB ever. His athleticism can be measured, but his intangibles can't. I know this, he did things in his first two years in college that I have never seen before and I am old.
32 NFL GMs out of 32 also passed on Russell Wilson twice... I know what I see, and I do not need a GM or "draft expert" to validate it.
Manziel is a wild card, if he can stay healthy (and I seriously doubt he can), his ceiling is unlimited, but I think Bridgewater is a safer bet. If the Rockets can swap with Cleveland, select Clowney or Barr with the 4th, and take the BQBA with the 26th, it could be a huge windfall. But the word "could" has gotten a lot of coaches and GMs fired.
Unless the Texan's believe Bridgewater is a can't miss (or Manziel) I hope both Clevaland and Jax fall in love with Teddy. Get them in a bidding war and hopefully get a good package from Jax and still get Manziel, which is what I would love.
Trolling a browns board they'd gladly give up both firsts, a third and next years first for Teddy. I think that type of deal a 3 firsts Redskins type swap could be there with either the Browns, Raiders, or Vikings. Tough call.

Not a tough call at all, you do that in a heartbeat. I doubt any of those teams would really do it. As you've seen with the redskins, it takes away the opportunity to add talent around your young qb, esp if you have cap issues. Not like the nba, few good players is worth more than 1 great typically, and in this case bridgewater is not a franchise changer. It would allow us to address lb, secondary, and oline issues over the next two years.
because people feel he is a finished product and people value the unknown. so a guy who may not be as good as bridgewater right now gets the benefit of the doubt because they feel they can still grow. its nonsense.
Happens in every draft where drama = blog hits and ratings. With that out of the way, I'm really looking forward to the combine. Any discussion of who the Texans should select is premature until these players are put under a microscope and measured out.
