I don't buy the argument that there are hotter women in Austin. I know plenty of people who live in Austin who are from Houston, and they tend to agree. There are a lot of ugly Austinites. If they are attractive, they are either (a) only there for college or (b) not capable of keeping a full time job. Yeah, I came here to stereotype.
I love me some ugly Austinites. Can't say that about our ugly Houstonians without catching a case of the hibbie jibbies.
I think the real question here is "is this thread really that much hipper than the other 100+ threads just like it?"
Austin is way cooler. They have music festivals to bands I never heard of but pretend to enjoy cause it's the cool thing to do.
Interestingly, where Htown was once cooler in that they didn't give a damn what other cities thought they were cool, it has been on some inferiority trip looking for validation for about a decade now, it seems. Coinciding with growth uncharacteristic in much of the country over this period, maybe that's the transplants showing through. Growing up there, it seemed it didn't matter what other people or cities thought (Dallas, I'm lookin' at you) Htown was cool because it was, and didn't need anyone telling it so to feel that way. Maybe that is just my perspective and experience, maybe no.
Jesus brother, this is possibly the worst thing I've ever read. You could have least said something along the lines of FPSF is better then ACL. It would still be a lie but at least I could respect it.
The concentration of cool bars/ music to see to is something Houston just can't match because of it's size. Houston has an awesome scene no doubt, but Austin is more on par with San Fran and Seattle -- Houston is a giant city competing with New York, Chicago, and LA. The comparisons really aren't fair (Austin isn't on that level) -- except that they both destroy Dallas and San Antonio.
