Well the knicks won in san Antonio and won in Dallas tonight even without chandler. They have looked a lot better and that win was not as bad as lin fans make it out o be.
After beating DAL tonight, Rockets deserve a little more credit for the win. Knicks went 2-1 on their Texas Trip, only loss coming on a B2B.
- I think Lin is an above-average point guard. - I think Lin is the best PG we have on our roster. - In a perfect world, I would prefer Lin to start and Bev to come off the bench, as I think Bev's style of play is best suited to limited minutes. However, it also became apparent during Lin's absence how badly he is needed in the 2nd unit. I'm no coach, so I have no proposed solution to that conflict, barring bringing in another PG (which I am not opposed to, whether that means losing Lin, Bev, or AB). - When Harden is out, Lin is essential. There is 0 doubt about that. What's silly is that I've said all of those things before, multiple times. But here's the thing. I am a Rockets fan, first and foremost. What I want are WINS, and an improved record. If we win and Lin isn't on the floor during the last quarter -- I don't care, because we won. If we win and Howard isn't on the floor Q4 -- I don't care, because we won. If we win and Bev plays 7 minutes -- I don't care, because we won. If we win and Harden gets 10 touches -- I don't care, because we won. It's that simple. I'm not going to label you a LOF, because I'm not in your head. But I will gently say that it appears you are a whole lot more invested in him individually than I am in any individual player on the roster -- which is fine. But that also means you will likely never understand the mentality of a fan who is simply satisfied with wins, no matter how they come.
Lin is a combo guard. The guy plays his best basket when he looks to score FIRST.He is not a pure point guard. We don't have a pure point guard on our roster who can get the ball to the right spots and get people easy shots.
Knicks fans still talk about JR's shot. They can't get over it. LOL Stupid is what stupid does. <iframe width="480" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/jCHGxg0TEoI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
OK. Thank you. I didn't find that a good win. For me, it felt like a gift win. I found a lot of holes in McHale's explanation as well. But I'll take it, that's his way. I think there are long-term ramifications in moves he makes beyond one game but things can change. My next question is do you think Dwight is becoming dissatisfied with his usage on the team? I suspected in his body language he might be, what do you think?
It wasn't the best play, but for argument's sake he was wide open. Rockets are fortunate NY missed their last 4 FGAs TBH. Only exception is the final shot as it was decently contested. Knicks missed 3 open shots the final 30 seconds.
no. even below average teams can and will beat above average teams. that's why the games are played. so we won the game. great. let's have a party. but the issues are still there and despite the fact that NY went 2-1 on the trip, they are a team Houston is supposed to win at home and not by a gift boneheaded play.
Offcourse. Kings played well. The Knicks almost swept the TEXAS TRIANGL. one gam was a luke, two games a fluke? Three very good performances is not a fluke.Fact is with Tyson chandler they have a very good defensive interior big and Shumpert rounding into form they have improved.
Can I co-sign this sentiments? I am partial to Lin than any of our guards, but I agree 100% to this post.
I'll take gift wins, ugly wins, hard-fought ones, whatever. Anything that will boost us from the 6th seed, I'll gladly take. I also agree with the others who have noted that the Knicks with a healthy Chandler and a positively contributing Shumpert are not the Knicks we saw earlier this season. It's anyone's guess how long Shump's high productivity lasts, but I don't think them creaming both the Spurs and the Mavs on the road is a fluke. I'm much more concerned about losing to teams like the Kings and not even being able to keep games against other would-be contenders within 30 points. I haven't made much note of Dwight's body language, but I'd imagine he'd have to be at least frustrated during those times he's obviously hot and they just stop going to him altogether.
They're better. Chandler is solid and Shump is a nice player and it is good to see him playing better. But Melo will still ISO, Smith is a stupid player and Bargnani's help defense is terrible. So, they have issues.
Great post, I read this on my phone and had to make the effort to go on to my laptop to give you rep! (I can't give rep from my phone for some reason...) I think most people here agree that the end result is the most important thing, just like a flashy win by 35 points or a grinding last second win over a lower ranked team are still both worth a "W" and the same value to your record. Likewise individual performance or stats, whats the first thing players say when they have a career night but lose? "Nice to play well BUT would prefer the win"
