i'm right there with ya. i want a franchise qb first and foremost. screw the whole idea of "building around jj" and drafting clowney. i also don't see luck being all that much better than bridgewater. IMO, when it's all said & done, bridgewater > luck
bridgewater has it too. amazing on 3rd downs, great in tight games, gets better as the game progresses...
He's talking about on the NFL level in a playoff game on the big stage... You're talking about Teddy playing at Louisville against a bunch of cupcake teams. I'm not saying he can't do it _ we shall see.
Dude Big Ben and Flacco were from small schools. Remember Teddy also has mediocre talent on his side too. You look and evaluate on the QB himself. He has all the intangibles. What makes you think he wouldn't suceed in a big school. What school conference is oversted in my opinion
If he's like Flacco, do not want.. epitome of getting hot at the right time.. but not impressed with his ability to play football
I didn't say he couldn't do it. I said we shall see... And Big Ben and Joe Flacco wasn't drafted with the #1 over all pick either. But if he can out duel Andrew Luck _ kool...
Not saying he's Flacco, but there are plenty of great QB that come from small conference. If we don't draft him he will be gone top 5. We'll see what happens I like manziel too
The Colts (no pun intended) were lucky they came out with a win. Chief's were decimated by injuries in the game and that fumble that bounced into his hands at the goaline was complete and utter ridiculousness. They had no business winning that game with 4 turnovers. I guess Luck was clutch when he threw all those picks? If Charles stays healthy, they lose that game. Luck was extremely average in that game. He does have some 4th quarter wins under his belt, I'll give you that but Saturday was a win in spite of Luck. Indy's defense won that game in the 2nd half. With all that said, I'd trade for him in a heartbeat. He does have everything you want in a QB. I think Bridgewater has all of Luck's qualities except for the size and scramble ability.
woah woah woah......calm down now People are starting the "over rating our own assets" before we eve own them. 32 NFL GMs out of 32 would take Luck over Bridgewater.
I think you're going a lil overboard.... Luck coming out of college was the most for sure number one overall QB draft pick since John Elway. The kids father was a pro QB and he was coached up in college by someone who was a pro QB playing against good competition. That was the perfect storm for Indy. Just because you draft a kid in the first round doesn't necessarily mean you're getting a franchise QB. And this draft class to me looks like the Cam, Locker, Gabbert, and Ponder 1st round draft class. Kapernick went in the 2nd round of that draft and he's arguably better than all of the QBs that went in the first round before him. I don't even believe that none of the QBs in this draft are even ranked in the top ten of best overall players coming out...
If "IF" was a fifth we'd all be drunk... All I saw was a young great QB on the rise... He's a better version of Payton Manning and he basically only has one receiver.
Indeed all of these comparisons are premature, but Luck's already better than Payton was as a rookie or in his second year. He's also more athletic and can score points with his feet. There's no Andrew Luck in this draft.
IMO you have to take a shot on a QB, either it be Manziel or Bridgewater with the #1 depending on who you like. You can't go into next season with either an average ranked rookie like Boyd or a guy like Keenum. And you can't bring in a FA because most of them can't handle a starting job. Getting a better o-line or a defensive player would be awesome, but do you want that at the expense or having no one taking the snaps next season? You need to swing for the fences. Worst case scenario you're back at #1 next year, which is HIGHLY unlikely (has it ever happened?).
If you're going to talk how great or not great QBs are, as well as display at least a little knowledge about Qbs, then you might want to learn how to spell their name...especially when they are one of the best ever. Peyton not Payton.
