You've said this in multiple threads and haven't gotten a reaction. This is the most stupid idea ever and it would never happen. Now you've gotten a reaction. Shut the **** up.
Lets see. You have a guy that has the "Clutch Gene", breaking records through year 2, and JJ Watt who may be the best defensive player of all time if he continues his dominance. Luck is going to be on the level of Brady/Manning within the next two years as well. When is the last time that either of those guys missed a playoffs when healthy? JJ Watt had a season last year that might have been the best ever, and what was to show for it? Brady tearing our D up.
If he does, than it was a well deserved risk you took at the number one spot. I know this trade wouldn't go down, but the point is, people on this board underestimate the ability of a great quarterback. Trading down is a horrible idea if you have the ability to get a guy like Manziel/Bridgewater.
So if Luck is on the level of Brady/Manning...or if the Colts believe he will be on that level, then why on earth would they trade him? Do you think the Packers would trade Rodgers to us for Watt and our 1-1? If a team has a franchise QB, they will not trade him away for anything but another franchise QB.
I wouldn't. But I am trying to prove a point. A player like Andrew Luck changes the franchise. Watt does not, and I would ship his butt off with our number one for a premier QB prospect.
I still don't see what point you're trying to prove by proposing hypothetical trades that would never ever happen. Strange way of trying to say that franchise QB's are important...nobody has ever said otherwise.
Well, Luck isn't there yet. Watt is regarded as the best defensive player in the league. I find it funny how Texan fans put so much value in defensive players, when this team is one great quarterback from being a contender again. If the Texans trade this pick to use to 1's on defense or a lesser QB prospect, I will be so disappointed. The point of my idea is to show how stupid I feel it would be to not draft a Bridgewater/Manziel. The draft is still a crapshoot as number one QB's seem to bust at a pretty high clip. Funny, you got posters like "Master Baiter" who think this is ridiculous. Is it smart to fall in love with player on a 2-14 squad?
The point is, that those who are clamoring for drafting a Barr by trading down have no idea what they are talking about IMO.
Could be done , they just wouldn't be all this year . I wouldn't be too upset if we had some crappy team like the browns first pick next year
Exactly. The answer to this thread is "NO". McNair isn't considering it. It wont happen. I would be shocked, and if it happened. Smith/McNair can get outta TOWN!
Texans won't have to ship off Watt for a "premier QB prospect"... Bridgewater will be available at 1.1
I don't have the patience to type out the point I try to make sometimes. I just think some people undervalue the importance of "great qb" play. I would be completely shocked if they didn't take Teddy/Manziel at number one.
I just don't know how anyone can say that there is no franchise QB in this draft. I think it's a loaded QB draft and one or two of them will be a star. Now it's the texans job to evaluate And make the choice., but if you pass on Teddy Bridgewater I think even the rams will think about picking him. Because they know Bradford is not the guy
