This month before the All-Star break is crucial. It will determine if we are fighting for homecourt (4th place) or for a playoff spot (8th place).

I believe if our play doesnt improve we'll be fighting for 8th position. And if things dont turnaround drastically with rotation changes or injuries or new personnel through trade, we will be dumped out of the first round like last season.

We beat them twice when they were in their no-Iggy slump. They've been on an absolute tear since he came back.

Does anyone remember when the Rockets were better than the overrated Clippers before the season started? Yeah. And fans will soon find out the Warriors (with Iggy) are the better team. I know it's hard to be impartial, but I try to be as unbiased as possible when evaluating the Rockets.

Oh yeah, can't forget how the Rockets were better than the Thunder. While we may have beaten the Spurs, we don't have a better record than them either. I don't blame fans partly because of Asik quitting on the team, but he wouldn't make much of a difference against the Clippers, Warriors, or Thunder considering his minutes.

I disagree. They don't care much about seeding until the last 2 months of the season.

This is why I kept debating people in the Dish who were convinced GSW was overrated in Iggy's absence. He is absolutely clutch, a HUGE boost for them defensively, and fills a lot more of the Jarrett Jack role than I expected. They look really good.

ETA: Also bear in mind that they're playing without a legit backup center right now. They will only get better once Ezeli is back in a couple of weeks.

I agree,I Never watched Iggy Till he joined the Warriors and all I heard about him was the he is a good defender, but then I watched a couple of Warrior Games and he was really impressive.

Would love to have him äs a Rocket,he could replace Parsons and our perimeter D would be much much better

We have the exact same record. The rockets have had tears of their own as well and have dealt with injuries to key players since nearly the start of the season.

I don't have a problem with someone thinking their better then us but calling it a "safe" pick is horsesh!t. We're every bit as likely to get home court advantage as any of the other teams hovering around us.

Too late warriors love him, he guarded Lebron when he had 8 turnovers and warriors won in Miami other day, morey had his chance this summer

If we get asik playing healthy, or something good for him in a trade it will be a upgrade for our current roster

The Warriors are half a game behind the Clippers. It would be perfect if the Clippers lost a lot of games in the next few weeks CP3 is out. The Warriors are a better match up for the Rockets and there is a good chance we would get home court against them .I have a feeling the Clippers will still continue winning without CP3 and Reddick. If that's the case then I don't mind slipping to 6th to play the Blazers instead of the Clippers.

I have a feeling we will end up getting bounced out of the first round against he Clippers. LA fans rejoice, the NBA rakes in the $$$ off the new favorite LA team while the Lakers rebuild.

Teams that give the Rockets the best chance to advance in the first:

    1) Spurs
    2) Blazers
    3) Warriors
    4a) Clippers
    4b) Thunder

Yeah it is really a shame.
I doubt Asik would Change much by playing 13 Minutes a nights, again this team lacks a true playmaker like Rondo or DWill,Lin and Beverly Are Nice Players off the Bench but not Championship lvl PG's
Also Casspi and Garcia Are trash

2013 offseason sign iggy & millsapp

Option 1. see what that team does in playoffs 2014
option 2. at deadline unless their 3rd seed... Trade parsons, millsapp, pick for KEVIN LOVE
option 3. With 1&2 you keep testing water for what you can get in a separate deal for Lin

    asik
    misapp
    iggy/parsons
    harden
    Lin/bev

    or

    asik
    Love
    iggy
    harden
    Lin/bev

I would never want to play the spurs, reg season be damned. Our best hope is GSW.

But yeah, I think all of us know that this team right now is going to lose in the first round.

That's not to say that we can't get better before April.

I'd like to see us play GSW with Iggy before I declare them a good matchup.

@BigM -- We have the same record, but they were something like 5-6 games behind us just a couple of weeks ago, barely hovering over .500. They've been on a definite upturn, while we've hit a bit of a skid even with all of our key players relatively healthy. I'm not even factoring in Asik's absence anymore... I figure that situation just is what it is at this point, unfortunately.

During the Warriors 8 game streak they beaten Heat, Clippers, and Suns. Clippers and Suns are both teams we lost to. I hate to say it but I think the warriors are better at this time. The rockets are not there yet and from there play recently I'm not sure they will get there (contending for western conference finals). The ball movement needs to get better and they need to stop relying so much on Harden ISO down the stretch. It worked last game but that won't win you most games especially when the other team has a harden stopper like the Pacers or Warriors.

No consistency. We lose to teams like Utah, Sactown, Philly and Lakers.
We can beat the Spurs but lose to Indiana and OKC.

5th or 6th place is actually a good place for a team that hasn't found its groove.

Losing the Dwight sweepstakes and "settling" for Iggy is probably the best thing that could have happened to the Dubs, honestly. I definitely thought Jack and Landry's absence would be more pronounced than it is.
