Aree with you about the QB... But I don't see McNair letting the Texans draft Clowney with the #1 overall pick. He was in the same situation when he hired Kubiak. He had a #1 pick and a team in shambles and it took them years to clean it up. The Texans drafted a QB who was suspect with a #1 pick and a DE who was suspect with a #1 pick and he's looking at the same situation again. Plus McNair likes choir boys and Clowney doesn't seem like one.

It's stud defenders in this draft at every position. Clowney and Barr aren't the only ones. A guy like Louis Nix could help the entire defense. Every good 3-4 defense have a big mountain of a man in the middle of the line and that's one major thing the Texans are missing.

All of this trade down talk is worrisome. If you think Teddy is the next Aaron Rodgers, you freaking just take him. There are only 4 elite quarterbacks in football (Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Brees) and there is NO collection of talent that you could use to pry any of them off of their respective teams.

If you trade down, you better be DANG SURE that the other QB you take has an equal or better chance of being an elite QB or those other picks you traded for are going to be INCONSEQUENTIAL.

I for one would love the potential of having two unblockable players on the line, but the issue really has to do with the offense not being so anemic. I have been an ardent supporter of Clowney to Houston; and while I wouldnt be mad if the Texans drafted him number 1 overall, I have to concede that getting a "cerebral" QB could make all the difference for this team. Teddy may be the closest to such a player. He is very smart, poised and makes plays when it comes down to winning. In the end that is really what differentiates the top tier to the rest of the field.

Now in regards to your point about the letting BOB develop a young QB, if that is what the Texans are leaning towards; it becomes paramount that the Texans draft the best available QB and let BOB develop the kid. IMO, Teddy looks to be more coachable and receptive to coaching corrections than Manziel. This cant be a long term experiment. The 1st pick QB has to be ready to get to work and get the engine to go.

I think everybody acknowledges that, if you think the QB is gonna be great you take him, period. But not everybody is sold on Bridgewater, and locking yourself into a QB you don't think will be great is very bad also.

It's all about what you think of the QB.

And what makes you think Teddy is more coachable and receptive to coaching then Johnny when Johnny made a major jump from his 1st to 2nd year....? Same with any other of these quarterbacks. Tajh Boyd may end up being better than both.

Cam, Locker, Gabbert, and Pounder where drafted in the high end of the first round because everyone THOUGHT they were the best three years ago. Dalton and Kapernick were drafted in the 2nd round of the same draft.

Oh okay! If you think he's not worthy, then we should definitely look at someone else.

Well that would be my opinion wouldn't it?

Barr is raw, and there is another prospect from South Carolina who is about a sure thing as it gets. I would throw up if we took Barr.

How do you propose getting two top 10 picks?

No, there isn't. And I don't think a team with two top 10 picks would be too eager to give that up.

We need a QB but the idea of Clowney helping solidify our defense is also hard to pass up. I'm glad I'm not the one making the decision. I will be happy with either one. If it were basketball and it turns out to be an Oden-Durant mistake then I will be crushed. Durant was so easy to call, but that's because I know basketball talent when I see it. It's harder in football.

Now watch the Texans pass up on both.

    But seriously, no.

I think I will feel a little more happy with Clowney, the safer pick, if we don't trade down. Tomorrow it could be Teddy. It's hard to find a player like Clowney.

    1) He already took the starting job from Vick.

    2) Michael Vick is now a free agent. Philly doesn't owe him any money.

    3) While Foles had a good season, Chip Kelly would trade him in a heartbeat for the opportunity to have Bridgewater or Manziel in his offense. He'd feel like he was ripping us off and he'd be right.

    4) Your ideas in these posts are awful.

Can we just trade Watt and our number one for Andrew Luck.

    I would do it.
