Yeah I'm mixed on Manziel. His small frame and fearlessness scare me in the form of NFL injuries. BUT, you can't deny his production, even against the best conference's defenses (SEC). Bridgewater was playing against scrubs while Manziel was putting up 550 yards of offense vs the likes of Alabama.

I agree with you about Johnny. But one good hit _ and it could be over with. He looks smaller than Brees to me. He may end up having that Mike Vick injury factor. And Bridgewater may turn out to be good, but I wouldn't draft him with a high 1st round pick. I hope they trade down and get a gang of picks and draft a quarterback in a later round.

This. You don't take a QB just to take one. If he is not #1 overall worthy, then trade down and get multiple picks and let someone else make the mistake of drafting him first. Maybe one of them will fall to us (probably won't happen), but you don't reach. Everytime a team reaches for someone, more times than not it doesn't work out.

I think Manziel will be great in the NFL, but I'm afraid that it will be Mike Vick great. Big plays, big runs, excitement but it may come at a price, injury. I wouldn't take him with the #1 pick, but if I could trade down and he fell to me, I would.

Bridgewater may also turn into a really good player, but he is not worthy of #1. It is just not smart to reach.

texans should at least consider trading their 1st pick for a couple of top 10 picks for it....or maybe use it to get nick foles or something.

He likes smart QBs too though, and has said off field matters on field. Mallet doesn't seem like his type.

this is laughable... i'm sure this guy has no clue what our cap situation is..

the last thing the texans want to do is trade draft picks for a guy who they will have to pay in a year.

Dude sounds like Eminem. I don't think McNair would like him.

^^ "The owner would prefer Johnny Manziel..."

Huh?? Has this been hinted at anywhere or is this guy just pulling this out of his ass?

I know everyone's taking turns trying to read O'Brien's mind and who he would draft at QB based off some of his ambiguous token statements on the subject, but I'll pass on that since I don't know the guy...

Now, the guy we do have a good feel for is McNair, and given his preference for high-character types and such, I have a hard time believing he would want Manziel.

Probably pulled out of thin air.

Although, interestingly enough, Darren Rovell did say this earlier:

I don't think he knows anything either.

Still way too early to make any declarations with Bortles, Manziel or whoever.

This was the premise of my "are we missing" thread. JF is a PR bonanza for any Texas team and there are only two of them.

With the Bortles talk and the Johnny talk _ I'm believing more and more that they are trading that #1 pick.

If Johnny Football has a great combine, would it lift up to potential number 1 overall pick? Or is the consensus for scouts that his small body is too much to make up for his skill?

Still think the Texans move regarding the draft depends on how the combine pans out.
