It's fast becoming a lost season for Asik. The dude just needs to drop the ego and play. He was replaced by someone better. This ain't like Lin who got replaced by someone worse.

    Thanks.

Now my sides hurt and I'm out of tears for at least 30 min.

This dude is clearly mailing it in. Remember what Vince did to Toronto? He kept faking injuries but once he got to New Jersey he became Iron man immediately.

I'm inclined to agree with you. What kind of thigh contusion turns into a knee problem that's lasted 2 months and counting? Something doesn't seem right with the injury.

Yet, why would Asik knowingly do something like this when he knows that not playing hurts his trade value and chance to leave? So maybe the injury is real.

Who cares what some report is saying now? A month ago, there was little doubt that Asik would be gone within a couple weeks. But where is he now? It's about getting a good return. If someone offers the right deal for Asik before the deadline, why wouldn't we deal?

At this point, I'd rather trade him to the Cavs for Bynum's sort of expiring contract. At least make sure he's playing in the East and not the West. And Asik's basically a net zero, Bynum can only make it go up.

Bynum might make team performance go down by banging a coach's wife or a teammate's mom.

Not me. I was actually OK with the deal. It would have gotten rid of a problem and helped us now.

I don't know what his situation really - none of us do. And that is suspicious in itself. All I know is that we have a wasted roster spot and wasted cap space, with a guy who for whatever reason will not step on the court. We are getting NOTHING for it. And his value diminishes by the day - whether he's injured or not.

Yes, there is demand for big men. Yes, they seem to be dropping like flies around the league, and teams will start panicking pretty soon to replace their lost big men. But hey - Asik is injured too. So how much value will he really have?

Or is it just a charade? I don't know. But I don't like this situation one bit.

I do have to wonder if this "Yeah, we're probably gonna keep him" talk is really just a publicly-voiced threat to Asik. As in, keep up this BS and we will sit your a$$ on the pine for the next 2 years, and good luck getting a decent contract after that... Maybe trying to get him to actually play?

If that's what they have to do to get him to play then the situation is FAR worse than any of us know.

Joke aside, we'd waive Bynum and take the savings. But then some WC team would get him.
