I've supported the team here big time since the beginning... But I'm not a blind homer and not afraid to call the team out when I see problems.

A lot of those guys rode in on Kubiack's coattails, so I'm not surprised they were fired. And the assistants coaches make a good amount of money.

If Crennel doesn't work out, I'm not totally against moving to a 4-3. Wade's system is a 3-4 only nominally, and when you sift through our personnel, they are far more suited to 4-3 than traditional 3-4.

Earl Mitchell is a 4-3 DT, not a NT at all
JJ Watt transcends position, he can play and dominate at any DL position but nose, and he could even get away with that.
Antonio Smith (if retained) can and has played right end in both systems
Mercilus isn't impressive as an OLB and would probably do better as a 4-3 LE
Reed would fit better as a 4-3 OLB, he simply isn't a pass rusher but has plenty of other skills. Point in fact, we just do not have a true pass rushing OLB worth a damn.

Having said all that, 3-4 is a more effective defense in this pass heavy NFL....but we've got a serious shopping list if we want to "stay" in a 3-4.

Was wondering how Singletary might do as DC.

Crennel gets $3.5 million to sit on his fat ass and eat cheetos this year. At his age (and mine) that can be a tempting alternative.

Tomsula was mentioned a few days back (the 49ers D-line coach). I would really like to get him if he doesn't get a head coaching job.

I'll pass just in case he decides to drop his pants again in front of his players. If not Romeo, then where art thow Ray Horton? I don't know much about him or what he did with the Browns, but he sounds well respected. Reports have him being considered for HC jobs however.

Yea... I didn't think of that. He would probably be losing a million or two if he took a job...
