Because McHale's answer is not true. He did not let the guys (let's be real, it was one guy who did that) who brought us back finish the game. Lin left the game with a 5 pt deficit, Dwight left the game when the Rockets were down 8. McHale brought him back after the game was already tied.
McHAle said after the game he wanted to bring Dwight back but his back stiffened. http://espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=400489297

LOL.....you think McHale's coaching won the game? His gut almost cost the team the game. Adjustments? Like putting Brooks on Iman Shumpert? How do you even begin to defend that? luckily the knicks are too incompetent to take advantage.
Rockets team is a mess. Lose to the kings at home barely beat the Knicks. We were supposed to improe over the season but we are worse. Coach sucks, players don't work together well. I didn't expect to make it the championship. But home court in the first round was pretty much an absolute. We are the worse team in the playoff picture right now. Dallas and phoenix are better than us.
according to our record compared to last year.. we are better.. serioulsy we have been struggling with injuries and trying to integrate dwight into the mix and we STILL HAVE A BETTER RECORD... everyone just needs to chilll!!! this was a great win goodnight/goodmorning. the end
We still have the same coaching problems. Playing time and player management by the coaching staff sucks. We are inviting exhaustion and injuries to hit our players. Geez, when do our coaches learn from their stupidity?
I'd enjoy the game if I was neutral. As a Rockets fan however, it's fair and probably right to be annoyed at how we win, just as you can be pleased with how we lose. In this example, you can't count on the other team's mistakes to bail you out, while continuing to - Not feed Dwight in the post Take out your starting PG/6th man/... (who is having a decent game) for the entire 4th quarter Rely on Harden ISOs at end of games Continue to shoot early 3s when they aren't falling These are structural issues that need to be fixed, and will definitely be exploited come playoff time.
The benching isn't the issue, sitting Lin the entire 4th is. I actually agreed with the initial benching, Lin needed to settle down a bit...but he should have been brought back in the 4th with maybe 8 mins left to play. It made no logical sense to keep him on the bench. It would have made sense if Brooks was on fire offensively or was an upgrade over Lin on defense, but it's a negative on either of those things. How many starting PGs would be benched for all of crunch time in a closely contested game after putting up 14 and 4 in the first half on 56% shooting? Let alone in favor of a 3rd string backup, and all because they had a bad 4 minute stretch. Wouldn't happen. Brooks had 7 missed shots out of 8 attempts with 2 TOs and 4 fouls in 20 minutes and people here are actually saying he was soild...just LOL. That's worse than the "horrible 3rd quarter play" Lin was benched for in the first place.
to be honest we need a true point guard, all 3 of our current pgs lin, bev and brooks are all great 6th men but this team would be more consistent with a top quality pg.
Yep. Rockets will have an All-Star starting PG that get his season average points and assists midway through the 3rd quarter and who has been clutch in the 4th in recent games yet the coach benches him anyways. McHale will be really pissed if Lin starts in the All-Star game and plays really well!!! LOL, would love to see that happen!
this video is freaking hilarious.... this guy should be on more knicks commentaries. i don't know why but the vacuum cleaner in the background makes me laugh also....thanks for making my morning.
Seriously? you have a join date of 2000 and you are quoting +/- stats for a single game?... C'MON SERIOUSLY!!!
I agree to an extent however Lin was playing Harden type defense the whole game, ball watching, leaving his man on the perimeter leading to easy threes and you can't have 2 guys who do that in the game at the same time. On another note, Garcia is done as an NBA player, who foresaw that stupid foul on the jump ball? I knew as soon as I saw Garcia on the court that he would do a stupid foul, because he does it every single game. What about that Harden turnover huh? And him lying on the floor afterwards as if his leg had been torn off, with the replay clearly showing there was absolutely no contact that could have caused injury. Man it makes it hard to root for a guy who does that p***y ****, and some of the foul calls he got this game were totally unwarranted. We didn't deserve to win this game, nothing's changed even with the player meeting. Of course I know it's a young team, first time playing together, whatever, I'm still hopeful and I know we will get a lot better, but will Harden grow as a player and stop trying to get those silly foul calls? I know a lot of you hate CP3 for flopping, but with Harden it's far worse in my opinion. I just don't know how good he really is without the phantom fouls, I mean he couldn't take advantage when Bargnani got switched on him several times, star players are supposed to do that. Bargnani looked like a defensive monster tonight with his defense on our two superstars...
Harden seems to always fake injury when he messes up... like injury was the cause. i.e.- when he dribbled off his foot (led to a jump ball) late against NY he just had to get up slowly.. smh Crap defense and a flopper
Well maybe they will bring back K-Mart and Scola for you... I'm sure that team was much easier for you to route for... Have to love the way they would get our team to the lottery every year...Lol.. And what's with this shyt they don't deserve to win that game.. F that buddy.. 82 freaking games in a season and not all are going to be pretty. We need every win they can get...
The reason Lin was bench throughout the 4qt is because Uldrih was killing him in the PnR and also Lin was overly aggressive, eagerly getting to the hole way too much resulting in some air balls. Very uncharacteristic of Lin last night, did anyone notice that? Where did he get the black eye from?
Damn, Harden gets it bad from ClutchFans for a guy who did THIS Never seen a guy get so much hate from his OWN FANS who is such a great player
