Lin is a classy guy. He won't create a ruckus like Asik did, but will keep up his efficient scoring and speak highly of everyone else on his team. Once given a chance to become a guaranteed starting PG on another team, he will probably take it.
Is there a standard that Lin is held to which no one else on the team is held to? This isn't obvious to me. Of course, I know that Harden and Howard get some preferential treatment, but if that's all we're talking about then there are a dozen other players on the team that can cry about double standards.
Wow. If Curry also gets hurt, the West ASG starting backcourt will have 2 Rockets. Backcourt 1. Kobe Bryant (LAL) 723,031 2. Chris Paul (LAC) 533,647 3. Stephen Curry (GS) 481,698 4. Jeremy Lin (Hou) 358,725 5. James Harden (Hou) 270,476 6. Russell Westbrook (OKC) 216,070 7. Tony Parker (SA) 158,329 8. Damian Lillard (Por) 105,880 9. Ricky Rubio (Min) 81,829 10. Steve Nash (LAL) 81,377 CF will soon be flooded with real LOHs.
I can't believe McFail is not even playing Lin in the 4th. Brooks suck....especially on D. Rockets lucky they didn't get killed out there because the Knicks struggled shooting the ball. Lin could have helped do a better job scoring and defending than Brooks. I don't see what Lin did that warrant being benched. This is pathetic. Lin should pull the Asik act and say screwed this damm coach.
not quite that simple. lin has shown time again he can play huge in the 4th qtr. Lin's torching in the third qtr consisted of udrih scoring a whopping 4 points. What about the previous 2 qtrs where lin held beno to 2 points. murry had 3 on lin for a total of 9 points. It would seem pretty simple if Harden would get called out by the coach when doing the same mistakes. Because Harden was drifting and leaving shumpert all alone.
Wait a minute! I come home and turn on Clutchfans and all i see are negative type of threads. So naturally, haven't seen or heard anything about the game, i automatically assume that they lost!
That would be very unprofessional of him. It's a team sport, and while I think McHale could play Lin in the 4th, I am not sure if he could have done a better job on defending tonight, given his tendency to ball watch and leaving his man open in the 3rd.
At this rate we really won't survive unless we get Asik back or a decent back-up center. The bench alone cannot hold their own, thus one or two of the starters always have to be in--logging heavy minutes.
Harden played decently in the 3rd, but too much ISO in the fourth, which almost cost us the game, again. Just lucky Brook got fouled on that rebound, and JR with an idiotic J at the end. Lin played horrible basketball in the 3rd, but I still don't understand why he deserved to be sat on the bench. Also, Aaron Brooks went 1-for-8 from the field, except for 2 clutch free throws to seal the deal for us.
despite a gazillion people saying otherwise, the contract is not a "poison pill". the issue is that morey wants more than what other teams are willing to give especially with a loaded draft coming up. we say he makes 8M because its an AVERAGE. technically he made 5M last season and this season and 15M next season or 8M cap each season. choose. if it's 5M, then he's the 2nd lowest paid "starting" PG not on a rookie contract. if its 8M, he's at the lower/middle end of a "veteran" contract. NEXT season is different but a cap impact of 8M shouldn't impact deep pocket teams like the Bulls. plus Morey could always throw in 3M if the owner isn't a cheap skate. Atlanta - Teague - 8M Boston - Rondo - 12M Brooklyn - Williams -18.5M Charlotte - Walker - 2.5M (rookie contract) Chicago - Rose - 17.6M Cleveland - Irving - 5.6M (rookie contract) Detroit - Jennings - 7.7M Indiana - Hill - 8M Miami - Chalmers - 4M (it's Miami) Milwaukee - Knight - 2.8M (rookie contract) New York - Felton - 3.6M (the had PG issues even when he was healthy) Orlando - Nelso - 8.6M Philadelphia - Carter-Williams - 2.2M (rookie contract) Toronto - Lowry - 6.2M Washington - Wall - 7.5M (just got new contract) Dallas - Calderon - 6.8M Denver - Lawson - 10.8M Golden State - Curry - 9.9M Houston - Lin - 8.4M LA Clippers - Paul - 18.7M LA Lakers - Nash - 9.3M Memphis - Conley - 8.6M Minnesota - Rubio - 3.7M (rookie contract) New Orleans - Holiday - 9.7M (Evans 11.8M) Oklahoma City - Westbrook - 14M Phoenix - Bledsoe - 2.6M (rookie contract, Dragic 7.5M) Portland - Lilliard - 3.2M (rookie contract) Sacramento - Thomas - 900K (rookie contract) San Antonio - Parker - 12.5M Utah - Burke/Burks - 2.4M/2.2M (rookie contracts) only 3 starting PG (no injuries) make less than 7.7M per year and 2 of those make over 6M, not including the rookie contract players.
Lin seemed fine by it at the end seeing how he was happily chatting with Amare. To be fair, while Brooks wasn't scoring much he was doing a better job defending in the 4th compared to Lin in the 3rd.
