Giannis Antetokounmpo is growing in front of our eyes. Literally.

Thanks to a photo posted on the Milwaukee Bucks’ Twitter account on Thursday, we learned that the 19-year-old rookie donned the “Greek Freak” has grown more than an inch since being drafted by the Bucks last June, rising from 6-foot-9 to 6-10 and 1/4 inches. The image of Antetokounmpo will be made into a poster that will be handed out to fans at the Bucks’ home game against the Grizzlies on Jan. 15.


An inch might not sound very staggering, but the contrast is actually pretty amazing when putting the two versions of Antetokounmpo side-by-side




Antetokounmpo’s seven-month growth spurt doesn’t exactly come as a surprise to the Bucks. In fact, SI.com’s Ian Thomsen wrote last month that Milwaukee’s rookie will likely grow even taller, explaining a medical exam “determined that he has the growth plates of a 16 year old.”

I always thought he should have been drafted higher. Looking back, he should have gone number 1 based on potential alone.

Im pretty sure that hieght difference is being exaggerated in the photo.

He's standing 2 inches over the "older him" who is also wearing a hat while slouching and leaning to the side. If that were real, he was standong straights and the other wasn't wearing a hat he'd be around 4 inches taller lol

 

I really, really like this kid. Seems fearless.

 

He would have been drafted much higher if he had agreed to play in Europe at least one year. But he shot the idea down from the start and slid to 15th.

 

I can see him being a 16 and 8 wing player with elite defense

He is Nigerian like Hakeem and not Greek like Spanoulis. Greece does not deserve him.

 

Aren't there scientists who can estimate how tall a person will be? I wonder how tall Alphabet will turn out to be, when he stops growing.

The picture alone have a difference of 1 inch. Doubtful thats the case in real life.

I wonder if he can become the Durant stopper since he has length and speed to match up with durant.
