I never brought up player reactions to what coaches say. The players reacted to internal confirmation that Briles had interviewed for the Baylor job. Not media people speculating. It's pretty understandable that a team would feel deflated upon finding that out. As for the fans/school feeling cheezed off, here's an article on November 27th where Briles states he met with Baylor but didn't discuss money and it was a "just to get to know each other" thing. And here's an article on November 28th of him accepting the job. Clearly if you think Briles' first meeting with Baylor was November 27th, and that they didn't discuss salary, I've got some oceanfront property on the moon I could sell you He misled people every step of the way. Sumlin didn't do this. Edit: I said "accepted" earlier, I meant interviewed. Part of what sucked about Briles' departure is that he began the process during the season, spent time recruiting for Baylor while on UH's payroll, etc. Sumlin waited until after the season was over before putting any time himself into the departure process. During the season, his agent fielded all inquiries and kept Kevin out of it so he could focus on football, just as he did when he left OU for UH. I have a lot of respect for how Sumlin handled himself professionally. Yes, but you cannot blame Sumlin for that. He won and A&M needed a coach. What was he supposed to do? I don't think this is as feasible as it would be to move signing day back (or forward). That would prevent a lot of recruit poaching and coaches jumping ship early.
Wait a second though... I actually think he'd make a great basketball coach at UT. TAMU went after JVG... why not?
Rally? We're back to Flightaware? UT needs to get it's ish together and hire a new coach before there aren't any more recruits.
But someone flew from Austin to Houston. And someone (possibly the same person, or maybe not) flew from Houston to Tuscaloosa!
My post had nothing to do with that at all. However, at this time UT has not attempted to interview Fisher and neither You or Me have any knowledge to the contrary. My post had 1 singular meaning with no hidden agenda. The only meaning was that I fealt Franklin would be an interesting choice if the Horns decided to offer the job to a lesser known candidate.

I don't understand. I was told we could buy any coach we wanted. Is this to mean we want Strong over Saban, Fisher, Gruden, Harbaugh, Malzahn, etc and are simply buying him by choice?
http://www.courierpostonline.com/usatoday/article/4308307&usatref=sportsmod Fisher has the BCS Championship Game left to play against Auburn after signing a new contract this week, and during interviews before the game, Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jameis Winston said he's talked with his coach about the Texas job. "I told him I'd go with him," Winston said. "He's my coach.
Do you not remember the article last year? Winston grew up a Texas fan and actually called Mack wanting to come to Texas. Another great decision by Mack and his "scouts". They probably wouldn't have coached him well anyways, it's how we rolled.
Lots of talk that Al Golden has been offered the penn state job which opens up Miami for strong. At least that's what people are saying. Insider on hornsports says strong is third on the ut list but is fighting hard for the job. But right now there's lots of pawns moving around. Thinking the major pieces will begin moving tonight and tomorrow. I'm maintaining my position that we will get a big name
