Fit is one reason. The other is that teams just don't think of/value guys the same way. As much as folks, particularly the analytics guys, try to measure players objectively, the reality remains that guys don't walk around with ratings on their heads like they do in NBA2K games. One team may think Pek is better than Asik, another may disagree.

How is it better??? He's going to take away space from Davis in the paint on offense, and he's not going to help any more than Asik on the defensive end. Offense isn't NOLA's problem. Its on the defensive end. This rumor was made up by someone who wants to see Asik in Minnesota and that's a fact that Thorpe all but admitted. It was never rumored by actual sources with knowledge.

Okafor is done. He hasn't even made it to Phoenix this season. He's been in NY all this time getting treatment on his back.

Pekovic could potentially go to a third team if not be traded in the off-season.

At this point Asik is only hurting himself. The only reason he is still on the Rockets is that he has not played hard/well or at all. Omer is looking at being in a Rockets uniform for what will be a VERY long year and a half if he doesn't go out and play hard.

Okafor may indeed be done but if we could get him and picks for Asik and change then that's a very interesting trade. Especially if we could get Okafor to agree to an extension with a small guaranteed buyout for next season. I'd do it at the deadline if nothing else came up.

I have no idea how it's better. But one never knows what an organization is thinking for certain moves they make.

    Nice try but wrong.

Lebron if he stays in Miami next year will make $20 mil.

Can we just get over this $15 mil salary bull****? At least concerning the Rockets paying him that much.

He made approx. $5 mil last season and $5 mil this season. Over 3 years that averages out to $8 mil per year. The $15 mil actual salary should be of no concern to the Rockets since that is not his cap figure. Les probably earns well over $10 million in interest on his investments per year. If a trading partner is that worried about his actual salary, we can throw in the $3 mil cash to offset it provided that they are giving us the assets we desire.

I mean, we have two huge needs on this team. Backup center and backup wing. Even if some games he is a bit mopey, he'd still be the best backup center in the league.

We're close to being able to trot out:
    PG Lin
    SG Beverly / Harden
    SF Garcia
    PF Casspi
    C Asik

As a second unit. That's pretty damn good. Now let's trade Motiejunas for a capable backup 2/3.

why? was he making too little as a starter last year and too little as a backup this year?

why does it matter to you?

does it impact the rockets cap 15mil next year?

so again, how is it he is making too much as a backup. It was always a three year deal with a balloon that was straight-lined for cap purposes.

replace casspi with anyone who can play any semblance of defense (please stay healthy greg smith) and you've got something there.

With the Howard signing we are looking to upgrade the PF, PG first and possibly a better SG/SF backup and a cheaper version of Asik as C backup.
    That is just me though

We might care, but Les doesn't. Plus, it is only 8.3mil really.
