Big Ben wasn't taking in the top 5 (but he was still a high pick)... But like Steve _ Big Ben's size athletic ability and arm couldn't be ignored... Bridgewater doesn't possess the combination of those attributes. Leftwich is another guy taken with a high pick who played weak competition and look great in college.
Leftwich had a serious mechanical issue that got ignored because of his success. Same with Carr. Bridgewater isn't anything like those guys.
He doesn't? How much film exactly have you seen on Bridgewater? The only place he doesn't rank with those two is size...
Tania Ganguli @taniaganguli #Texans owner Bob McNair says even if they draft a QB they'll probably sign a veteran, too, so they have options.
Well if that's the case Jimmy Garoppolo should be in the conversation of being drafted with the first round pick... If that's the case _ Case wouldn't have went completely undrafted after the career he had at U.H. I know that there are guys who succeeded in the NFL who played against weak competition but it is rare they are drafted with a high pick and it hasn't been many of the ones that were that succeeded. Steve and Big Ben were physical freaks of nature. We should trade the number one pick and wait till next year... Nexts years draft will be more like the Luck, RG3, Russell, Foles, etc draft. This year's draft is more of a Geno Smith, Barkley draft...
1) We aren't going to have the #1 pick next year 2) Case Keenum didn't go undrafted because he played at UH. Kolb got drafted. Keenum went undrafted because he didn't have the measurable talent levels that usually translate to success. There are tons of small school QBs that do well against mediocre competition at best that never get a chance because they are small, have bad arm strength, poor decision making, etc. The competition you faced in college is not the way you evaluate players.
Size means alot to many coaches... And Steve and Big Ben have cannons for arms. Big and mobile and defenders had to make business decisions when they tried to tackle them when they were on the run... No comparison...
What a great idea! Let's tank the season less than 0 games into it for an inknown commodity! Not smart. Spoiler http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=105106
I didn't say Case didn't get drafted because he went to UH... And how did Kevin turn out again...????? If they trade down with Jacksonville _ they can get their 1st round picks for the next two years that will probably be in the top 5. Famous Jamies, Marcus, Hundley, etc will all be much better next year after another year of college and the Texans can draft one of them. This is not the year to spend a #1 overall pick on a QB... This draft is the Vince Young, Mario Williams, and Matt Lienart draft.
But he isn't slow?. He's just not blazing speed fast but saying he's slow is redankules. He's like 20 matt schaubs. Kid can run if needed and is prolly faster then half the QBs in the NFL. Although I think we should snag Johnny. Manzirl plus 30 pounds = winning. Will regret if we dont
Oh.... Ok... So you saying you know that Teddy will turn out like Luck and Cam and not like Carr or Sam Bradford...
Cam was considered a bad pick by the Panthers. He wasn't a "franchise QB." Also, Teddy Bridgewater is fast. He doesn't run by choice, not because he can't.
Living "in Texas" has nothing to do with it.... the sentiment concerning racism and black quarterbacks is alive and well across the greater 48.... you are just as likely, if not more likely, to hear someone say it in Chicago, Philadelphia or Boston.

Have you ever looked at Roethlisberger's career high in rushing yards? It is MAYBE 250 yards. A decent amount for a qb, but hardly enough to qualify him as a scrambler. It's not enough to play into a your point of defensive players taking a gamble or whatever to bring him down. He scrambles maybe five times a game, on average. Doesn't average a ton of yards per scramble. Teddy is far more athletic than Roethlisberger. If you're talking about scrambling around the pocket, then let me say again that upon being drafted by the Texans, he will immediately be the qb with the best pocket awareness in franchise history. His pocket awareness is great, and would negate any discussion on Big Ben being harder to bring down in the pocket than him. Granted, Mcnair had size and scrambling ability on Teddy, but mechanically, I think Teddy is far superior in all aspects. Mentally, as well. I think he will be better than either of these two guys, and they are the two listed as successful college qbs who played against low level talent. Not only that, the talent Teddy plays against in the Big East/American is superior to what either of these two played against.
wait wait wait...so you are telling me whatever QB we draft next year is a sure thing! well why the **** didn't anyone else tell me this! sorry Teddy, you are an inknown commodity. Remii said so.
