Even if he didn't, one CB or S doesn't make a good/bad defense. What about the other teams' front seven's? What about the other defensive coaches that prepared for him? What about the blitzing he saw? What about the zones? His lack of competition doesn't guarantee him failure (apparently his race does....lol), he did what any good QB SHOULD do against low level competition. He dominated, he had a statistically better season than every other QB in his conference that played against the same amount of "NFL'ers". I doubt he decided who they were gonna play this season, he just played the schedule he was handed.
Cam Newton has been above average, Kaepernick has shown signs of being legit once all his weapons came back, Drew Brees ran a pass happy offense in college as well, people said Aaron Rodgers was overrated since he was a Tedford product, Sam Bradford has shown signs as well.... Not trying to be an over supportive Aggie (cause I'm a longhorn myself), I'm just saying, if you've got it, you've got it. Regardless of the "system" you came from.
Let's look at last year as a barometer. Last season Teddy faced 5 CBs and 5 Safeties that were taken in the 2013 draft. Given that, I'd say the odds are pretty good that he faced more than one future NFL DB this year.
Competition levels seem relative: Teddy has a less talented line, but they face less talented defensive linemen Teddy has less talented receivers, but they face less talented CB's Would Tom Brady look about the same playing in Juco game?
LOL, check chron.com right now. There is a headline that says "Texas A&M star declares for NFL draft" but when you click on it, it's an article saying Mike Evans is declaring. Gee, you think the headline was worded like that to get extra clicks?

Got a link to that ? Not saying I don't believe but that seems incredibly high considering his competition .
Skip is pretty passionate in stating who the Texans must draft. I had never watched Manziel before and I was very entertained by him. I liked his playmaking. Had some concerns with his discipline, missing reads, etc. I wondered if he was "leading" his team or self aggrandizing with all the standing on tables, grabbing guys' jersey's, and whatnot. But, at the moment, I have no problem with the Texans taking Mr. Football #1. Heck, I don't mind if they take Bridgewater or Clowney #1.
Louisville 2012 schedule. http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/schedule/_/id/97/year/2012/louisville-cardinals Kentucky, Missouri St., UNC, FIU, Southern Miss, PITT, USF, Cincinnati, Temple, Syracuse, UCONN, Rutgers, Florida DBs from those schools drafted in 2013. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_NFL_Draft Cornerbacks: Dwayne Gratz - UCONN - 3rd Round Blidi Wreh-Wilson - UCONN - 3rd Round Logan Ryan - Rutgers - 3rd Round Kayvon Webster - South Florida - 3rd Round Marcus Cooper - Rutgers - 7th Round Safeties: Matt Elam - Florida - 1st Round Johnathan Cyprien - FIU - 2nd Round Duron Harmon - Rutgers - 3rd Round Shamarko Thomas - Syracuse - 4th Round Josh Evans - Florida - 6th Round Add in Earl Wolff - NC State - 5th round, who he played against as a freshman. Of course, that's assuming that those players were healthy and actually playing in those games against Louisville, but I don't know for sure. I'm not THAT thorough.
Johnny helped A&M pass UT as the state's top college program. Johnny will do the same for the Texans.
But we don't need Johnny to help us be the top NFL program, we've already got Tony Romo... Spoiler
I don't see Manziel being as elusive against faster, stronger talent. Plus, y'all do remember we're the Houston Texans right? We'd go 4-1 to start the season, that loss is real close, and all the Manziel fans would rub it in the faces of the people who wanted Bridgewater. The future looks bright. Then Week 6, Manziel tries something cute and suffers a season-ending injury and is never the same again. You know it would happen.
He'll still be elusive in the pocket. He just wont be able to scramble like he does now. No QB's rush in the NFL anymore. Especially not ones Manziel's side. His rushing days are over. Luck and Newton, those guys can run, they have size.
