WB pulling out all the stops. They're pursuing Joaquin Phoenix to be cast as a villain. http://m.imdb.com/news/ni56560648/
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/batman-superman-chris-terrio-write-666735 Looks like Affleck is pulling strings behind the scenes already! He brought in his Oscar-winning writer from Argo, Chris Terrio, to rewrite the script and get it in good shape. That's pretty exciting news, since David Goyer isn't exactly the best in the business. There is hope!
Someone who is linking to dcmovies.wikia.com didn't close their link tag and it is throwing off every href. With that said, Henry Cavill is a great Superman... I think most people agree with that, even though Man of Steel wasn't on par with the Dark Knight in terms of quality. It was still a great movie though, I'd put it on par with Thor.
This reads like a contradiction... I doubt most agree with this... Fun does not equate to great... Not, that I found it amusing... but, I can see how some people might...
Gal Gadot doesn't look half bad as Wonder Woman in this photoshop Spoiler Also, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson tweeted that he'll be working with DC and WB in 2014. Heavily rumored that he'll be the new Green Lantern. Makes sense since he's been making serious money at the box office. Whether he'll be in this movie or another project isn't known. But it looks like this movie is becoming a Justice League movie.
I was hoping for Idris Elba as John Stewart and The Rock as Black Adam. Hopefully the Rock isn't tied to this movie but he'll get a standalone. Too much going on already it seems.
If Joaquin Phoenix plays Lex Luthor, I'll still have hope. If not...I'll still watch it. The Rock, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Ben Affleck....at worst, this can be a fun popcorn movie.
If Gal Gadot can wind up looking like that, then I'm cool with her as Wonder Woman. She's obviously beautiful, but she's on the willowy side. She'd fit the role better (and be mega-hawt) if she packed on some curves/muscle. Good to see The Rock having success. Not a great actor, but he's gotten much better. Hell, if Keanu Reeves can get rich as an actor, so can Dwayne Johnson. I don't know if anything will save the movie with Zac Snyder as the director, though. "Man of Steel" was hot garbage that only ADD sufferers can love. Video-game violence and dialogue; a whole city ripped to shreds, and Superman showing no emotion about it. Henry Cavill made for a good Superman, though. He looks the part and fit the All-American conservative ideology behind the character. In the comics (Dark Knight Returns, 1988), Superman worked for a reactionary American government (images of Reagan as President, without the name being mentioned) who is sent to bring Bruce Wayne the vigilante to heel. I don't know what elements they'll borrow from that story if any, but for those of you fellow geeks who haven't read the four-part comic, it kicks butt.
Jeremy Irons is awesome and probably the perfect casting for Alfred. Eisenberg, though!? My goodness. Completely out of left field. I'm done caring about this movie. Hopefully he can prove the world wrong, but it's gonna take some amazing writing and acting. I'll just gladly wait for the next Batman movie. Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Ben Affleck as Batman, probably directed by Ben Affleck.
I can see Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Everything else about the movie is gonna suck way worse than he will in that role.
Eisenberg is a good actor. But, they still have that little problem of Ben Affleck as The ******* Batman and Zack Snyder as director. So I'll still sit it out.
