I must have missed that story, but that's what I thought it meant. I just thought it sounds ridiculously stupid (no offense to anyone using it).
You talk like that's a bad thing. Why would anyone want to model their team after one that contends for the Super Bowl every year?
My point was that we couldn't have, because we didn't lose 3 or 4 games due to kicking. Those are the only two that could have been won by kicking: http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/gamelog/_/id/15091/randy-bullock Most of Bullock's problems were in the first two games, which they won anyway. Besides those two and the two you mentioned, the only missed kick was against SF, which we lost by 31. A perfect kicker could have won 2 additional games at best.
I think the long range point is . . .. the moves needed to have made this team a contender were: 1. minor - i.e. changeable though proper coaching, player selections, discipline 2. Very doable Which is why I would not be close to impressed by a 6-10 record this year 6-10 = massive disappointment 8-8 = My minimal expectations 10-6 = impressed Above = GREAT AND FANTASTIC Rocket River ***** Lowered Expectations
I agree with you but I think the Seattle game could count as an additional game. Not sure how good my memory is on it but I think Kubiak ended up going for it on a 4th and short in FG range that the offense didn't convert in the first half. Normal Kubiak kicked the FG everytime but with Bullock being so unreliable at that point pretty sure he didn't trust him. Three there could have made a difference that game.
Fri, 11am press conference. Gee, I wonder what it's going to be about. http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexans/2014/01/texans-press-conference-set-for-friday/
I don't remember the game very well, but there were no drives that ended in downs and there were no attempted 4th down conversions by the Texans: http://espn.go.com/nfl/drivechart?gameId=330929034 And Bullock was 3/3 the previous week and 2/2 in that game, so there wouldn't have been much reason not to trust him at that time.
Yea you're right just went through each drive...ugh just reading those drives makes me re-live that game. I think it was the second drive that resulted in an interception I was thinking was on 4th down for some reason. Was on 3rd down though.
I think you're going to be disappointed. This team is going to have to get rid of a lot of veterans and players that don't fit and replace them with 1st and second yr players. I expect improvement over last season (no place to go but up) but playoffs I'm not so sure.
