It's not HIS choice, it's the management or the coaches' decision. What is the only way he is "sticking around"?

I probably should have voted other, but voted for the Matthews/Barr/Clowney w/ QB later.

I think that is what the team should do, but try to trade down, and then select one of those guys (whoever is available).

The only way Schaub is sticking around is if O'Brien is mentally disabled.

I voted Bridegwater. Unless we get our QB in this draft, the only other alternative is cutting enough salary and getting Cutler. And I am not even sold on Clowney, even if QB was solved, since I get the sense he disappears and with our first we need an impact player.

We already tried the "local star makes good" route... Bridgewater seems the best choice.

I am unsure as to how NFL contracts work -- they seem to be weighted in favor of the owners' discretion -- but Schaub has a huge contract that will be difficult to unload.

He gets cut and they get an extra 4.5 million in cap space.

Bridgewater. We'll regret it if we pass on him.

And it looks like his deal will be worth a lot more than Schaub's was. Cutler's average salary will be equal to what Schaub's highest paid year (that he likely never would've seen) would've been. Which is why I didn't see us signing him. Yeah, we can cut Schaub and save some money, but then you add on what you'd have to pay somebody like Cutler and you'd have a ton of money (that we don't have) tied up in the QB position. A lot of it going to somebody who isn't on the roster. It always seemed more feasible financially to address QB via the draft. #1 pick now make a little over $4 million in their first year.

Missed the Cutler re-signing. That cements it... unless we expect to get in the top two picks next season (Winston, Mariota), we have to draft one *this* draft. And unless someone actually thinks Manziel, or Bortles, or Carr is really better than Bridegwater and worthy of the #1 pick in the draft... it has to be Bridgewater.

I wouldn't be upset with either of Johnny or Teddy but hoping to trade down and still get a QB . Not really liking anyone as a #1 .

Pretty sure Clowney will be either #1 or #2

Trade down. Take Clowney/Barr/Matthews/Dennard. Sign McCown and take McCarron/Murray in Round #2 or #3

I think I'm takin' the "In BOB we trust" option as well. It really will depend on what his priorities are for the team. It'd be nice to rebuild the defense and solidify the lines before trying to look for a franchise QB. In a perfect world we could just let Schaub play out his contract and buy us some more time to find someone while we address other areas. That obviously can't happen though. We need a QB right now, and if Bridgewater or Manziel can be that person, why not take that chance.

I guess I'd be happy with Bridgewater or Clowney...and I suppose I can learn to like Manziel.

i know its not the popular opinion but we're kidding ourselves if we dont take clowney.

clowney will be a stud in the NFL, and pairing him with JJ will fortify our defense for the next decade.

im simply not in love with any QB this year. And we shouldnt take 1 just to take 1. Im a louisville fan, and ive watched teddy over the years...he doesnt seem like a #1 overall pick to me. hes done well against mediocure defenses. people point to his bowl game performance against Miami--miami's D was ranked #90.

I like Johnny football, but I just cant take him #1 overall. take the best player available. dont overthink it. dont reach for a qb just because the need is there.

take clowney. move on. watch him destroy with jj.
