The article Chuck4 just posted highlights the reasons why I contend that Teddy Icewater will be the best QB in the NFL in four years. He will be compared to Manning's legendary game prep and "coach on the field" abilities with Tom Brady's trademark never say die "I want to break you" competitive attitude.

Yes, I just affiliated him with two of the best QB's of all-time with him never taking a snap in the NFL. Hey, we are all a bunch of time wasting, internet-coach wanna be's who think their opinion is the most relevant.....so, there's mine.

O'Brien is going to write off Manziel because of what he said his second most important thing in a QB was, at the 1:10 mark in the video.

"They have to be able to make good decisions, they have to be good decision makers, and you can judge a lot of that off the field. You can watch how these guys do things and carry themselves off the field."

Seems like JFF would go against that.

I gotta admit just reading that got me excited that we have the shot to draft this kid... if this turns out right, this season might be the best thing that ever happened to us!

    Hype piece? Yes...

But it is true.... He sees the field extremely well and makes adjustments that very few college quarterbacks do. It is not a guarantee that he will be a good NFL quarterback, however it is something very important to consider and something overlooked at the combine and by draft services.

I'm rarely wowed watching Bridgewater, he makes some good throws that are made to look better because of how spectacularly his receivers make plays on the ball. I don't see the fire that I see in Manziel consistently. Against duke down 17 he put together two scoring drives consisting of nine plays capping off the second drive with a 44yd touchdown pass he threw off his back foot while back peddling. I realize he ran the spread option and he threw 22 ints in 24 games but he just has that it factor that I don't see in Bridgewater

Taking a player #1 overall because he's "exciting to watch" is just silly.

If a player is exciting to watch it means he's making plays, ie: Peyton, Brady, Brees, Rodgers...

Vince Young and Tim Tebow had that "it" factor too.

I'll take good mechanics over the "it" factor any day.

If you want to be "Wowed" watch Teddy's 2 minute drill at the end of the first half against Miami... it was perfect, great reads at the line of scrimmage, great footwork, great decisions, pin point accuracy, the ability to buy time with his legs and keep his head up, and the arm strength to fire it into some tight windows.

It shows why he is as touted as he is.

I get that but if O'Brien is as good as you guys he's perceived to be he should be able to coach him up on his mechanics

That's exactly what I'm talking about, when I watched his games this season I could count on my fingers how many times I said "that was an nfl pass", when he's on he's got a heck of a touch but its usually only for one quarter every other game excluding the Miami game.

Is this something that is common for freshmen players coming in?

Yes, because if there's one adjective that is constantly being used to describe Manziel.....it's "coachable".... ;)

Not to mention all 4 of them basically have PERFECT mechanics.

And some people said Manning didn't have the "it" factor coming out of college. He was 0-4 against his biggest rival Florida. I think he turned out okay.
