He is gonna be good, which is why I don't think we get the chance to draft him as he is a first round talent, but this draft seems somewhat deep at TE, and I thought Griffin was pretty good as a rookie, so I see us taking one if the many good TEs in this draft
I think he will be drafted in the 1st round if he has a good combine work out. A team like New England or Jets could afford to spend a first round pick on him. Tight Ends with his size and speed are becoming very valuable in the NFL. But good ones are being found in later rounds as well. Just look at San Diego with Gates and that young kid they have now.
Keeping him would mainly be for sentimental value. There's equal or better talent behind him, but the owner might wanna keep him around to experience the team finally win.. maybe O'Brien delivers like Harbaugh in SF. If he stays definitely a pay cut.
Save the money and let him go play wherever his buddy gets signed. He and Tate rubbed me the wrong way this season. Much success to him but Graham stepped up admirably and Ryan Griffin is a potential monster. I say draft Cameron Cleat in the fourth round and rotate the p squad guys
