What's funny to me some posters here think there is a definite correlation between Muslims and violence, but there is not no correlation between violence and crime.

Instead of finding a random angry quote on the internet, find a Muslim who said this. Then your quote could actually have some meaning.

And yet I don't see any mention of violent Muslims on the local news. I'm sure we would hear about it here if there were any.

 

It is because it's message is confusing and mixed - there is no consistent message in Islam - and the story changes as Mohammed gained in politics. He became more of a conquerer than a peace maker.

And the fact that folks actually believe his words can not be amended, means there is no room for a "New Testament" - Islam is inherently flawed in multiple ways

Religion of Peace provides the facts and links to the stories worldwide. Just because the facts presented are at odds with your limited understanding of Islam and the violent nature of the doctrine doesn't discredit it, it actually discredits you.

Fact: 16,000 dead, 29,000 critically injured last month in the name of Islam, whilst shouting 'Allah u Akbar' & justified by verses in the Quran & Hadith.

0 dead & 0 critically injured in the name of Christianity, no one committing acts of terror or murder shouting 'In Jesus name', 'By the command of Yahweh', (or even 'Buddha's intention') & no scripture in Torah or New Testament that would condone such violent actions.

Muslims are not the problem. Not all Muslims are violent. The greatest Rocket ever was a devout Muslim. Many posters on this board are Muslims that I regard as friends and have much respect for.

The question was 'Is Islam a violent religion?' The answer is yes it is. Does that mean all Muslims are violent people? No, it doesn't, but that doesn't detract from the fact that the Islamic doctrine is a very violent religion that advocates war, murder, terror, slavery, rape, torture, pedophilia, theft, robbery, extortion, intolerance, domestic violence & lying amongst other things.
(FACT: Prophet Mohammed participated in all of the things mentioned above, & Muslims are told that Muhammad is the most "beautiful pattern of conduct" and "example" for mankind to follow (Qur'an 33:21), as well as the "exalted standard of character" (Qur'an 68:4).)


As Wafa Sultan (who describes herself as a Muslim who does not adhere to Islam) puts it: "The problem with Christians is they aren't as good as Jesus. But thank God most Muslims are better than Muhammad."

 

So Muslims, who are followers of Islam, are not violent although they practice Islam (which is a violent religion).

I didn't read the entire thread, but you do have to ask the question about the impact of two things:

1) their prophet Muhammad's history of violence
2) the window that Islamic scriptures leave open for violence
