Harden is not trying D for most of games. Coach never say anything. So anyone expect Harden will learn from this board? No way he will change if he gets green light from coach.

Turning on one another isn't the best medicine. Dwight wants better perimeter defense out of JH, and in turn JH would love Dwight to be able to hit a midrange J or free throw.

The only two complete superstars I see these days are Durant and Lebron. CP3 and PG are close. Anthony Davis is also up there as he has a chance to be a better version of KG in his prime.

the problem is this oaf of a coach, go out and give effort hur hur hur, we know lin can't contain faster guards, so instead of saying "ok lead him inside every time", it's "go out and there and try", we know harden gets stuck on screens, so rather than switch, he lets them do it for 10 minutes, we help in the post when players are covered, we don't when it's an obvious mismatch. The damn coaches don't know how to cover for weaknesses.

I agree that we don't seem to defend well as a team and a lot of that is on the coaches.

But if your main guy seems to care only about his stats and doesn't look like he cares about defense then its a recipe for bad chemstry in the locker room.

excellent post and spot on!effort has something to do with it especially in Harden's case, but the guys are consistently out of position. This is a schematic and instinct issue not effort....coaching???

Well of course our perimeter defense is trash but lets be real Howard is talking about Harden. Dude doesn't give a maximum effort on defense every game.

Thomas got by Lin tonight at will. It was the same play over and over and over and over.

Despite his best efforts he just can't defend very well.

17 points on 17 shots, of which several of those weren't on Lin or while Lin wasn't on the floor. Check the play by plays. Even if you attributed ALL of them to Lin, that's FAR from efficient basketball. Thomas shot 6/17.

    You're completely reaching.

Lin played great D on Thomas. Did you watch the game? Because Thomas airballed like twice when Lin was on him in the 1st half. He scored a couple points in the 4th, but it was primarily Cousins winning them the game. And Harden hero ball.

    Hello kettle meet pot.

Here we have classic example of the type of excuse making that the "LOF" haters use to bash the LOF, or better yet Lin.

Totally ironic how they have become the exact thing they feigned all their hatred onto Lin for.

Look man. If we really think Harden's eeffort is good then you have no right to discuss ball anymore. It'snot a out vetting beat, it'sabout being the laziest person on the court each and every night. About only being engaged Iin the game if you are getting all the touches on O.

We used to make fun of these players on clutch city back in the day. Now we make excuses for them.

Wow. This typical hater either obviously has a hatred for Lin, or has zero basketball iq. Way to look like a tool buddy.

I do not know how you define unstoppable, 6/17 from Isiah is far from unstoppable.

Or maybe you have not looked at the stats?

Due to Harden's complete lack of effort he can't defend a traffic cone.

I don't know what your point is here. Its the completely wrong attitude to have that 'oh Lin cant defend even when he tries' to sort of enable Harden's complete apathy defensively.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Read between the lines of these post-gm interviews &amp; you get the picture: Harden needs to start playing some defense. <a href="http://t.co/uyXfUA5maC">http://t.co/uyXfUA5maC</a></p>&mdash; ClutchFans (@clutchfans) <a href="https://twitter.com/clutchfans/statuses/418231950927597568">January 1, 2014</a></blockquote>

Lin has recently had some decent games against good PG opposition, IT shot a poor percentage, but hes a smaller guard that relies on quickness and penetration. Lin is noted for having subpar lateral speed, and IT still performed well against us when we got blown out by SAC even without your mate Lin (injury) on 19/8/58% shooting. IT gets penetation because he has elite quickness and is a midget, Lin didnt disgrace himself given historically he struggles with this sort of opponent

Must be nice to live in an alternate universe where you can pretend reality is whatever you want it to be. No need to even watch the game or anything.

Some of you need to stop trying to deflect in order to avoid the simple truth that Harden quite possibly is the worst perimeter defender in the whole league. Yeah, I get it. He scores a lot. You like his beard. I think he's as an important piece to this team as we have. But that has nothing to do with his complete lack of effort and focus on the defensive end.

I thought the Rockets have been playing pretty good D on the PnR as of late. The big jumps out causing the PG to back up and Lin goes over or under the pick and recovers well. When you have bigs that knock down jumpers though, it's going to be tough for the third defender to rotate quickly enough to cover that. Something you choose to live with.

It isn't just Harden he's talking about. He's talking aboot Lin and Parsons too. All three of them aren't getting it done and we're getting torched
