Harden has a great shooting game but a terrible floor game tonight. Given the way the kings were defending the pick and roll, the rockets could get a small big switch every time, Dwight was been defended by Rudy Gay, Mclemore, even Jimmer fredette at one point. Yet, Harden could not get the ball to him, and that's the reason the game was lost.
The fact that we're playing against the Kings and have to talk about "clutch" (or lack thereof) plays is the main problem here. We shouldn't be in a position to make clutch plays to beat freaking Sacramento.
McHale will probably say something like "Not saying any names..but there was a lot of stickiness in the ball. The 4th quarter, the ball was sticking (to one person), and due to the stickiness(of that person) we weren't getting enough touches (to the big man). But I'm not sure really sure, we'll need to take a look at the tape to see what can be done (about that person) but I think it's just going to take time(means nothing can be done). But it's ok because this was the 5th game in 7 days so us losing to scrub teams is normal. We will have time off to work on our stickiness. Thank you. "
Harden is willing passer, it's also quite an ok play to do with iso. But gosh his shot selection in the clutch is awful.
if coach doesn't change his ways and keeps encouraging the teenwolf set, harden runs the risk of becoming a carmelo anthony with cooler facial hair. You just can't get on one player's arse and ignore the other one. whether it's brewer or howard, you got to hold them all accountable.
This game is lost by our superstars Harden and Howard. Howard letting Cousins scored inside at the end and Harden turning over the ball. Game over! The coach need to realize that something always good come out of it when Lin is running the offense and doing pick n roll. Give the man some confident instead of going to Harden every freaking time.
McHale has got to yell in Harden's face when he does bone-headed plays. Doc Rivers and Pop are two of the best coaches in the league, and they aren't afraid of getting in their stars' faces when they don't play defense, do a stupid turnover, etc, etc. Sheesh.
Harden was trying to do way too much. We don't need to be taking 3's in crunch time down by 1 when we have Dwight Howard. It's so frustrating watching him get position in the post and not be able to get him the ball.
Big picture....we are always going to stay a contender on paper! But have several meltdowns when it counts the most
