Considering the Muslim population is estimated to be 1.6 million people making up 22% of the world population we would live in a very violent world if the title of this thread was true.

Most violent religion does not mean all members of such religion commit crimes. Look at it this way, if Parsons is the most handsome Rocket, does that mean he's more handsome than all NBA players? Compare Islam with Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, and Taoism.
It's around 1.6 Billion Muslims, (some put the figure at close to 2 Billion as of 2011) & we do live in a very violent world if you haven't noticed. Syria has just lost around 100,000 people in civil war, there are uprisings happening in the Middle East and violent atrocities committed every hour, world wide, by people of all races, religions, colours and creeds, but only one religion has a prophet that endorsed, participated and encouraged such violet acts as murder, mutilation, rape, robbery, assault, domestic violence, slavery, genocide etc, etc, etc.

Seriously. I argued this same issue a while back re: crime statistics in Muslim nations (specifically domestic abuse) and got the same chorus of "bad data" even after I posted UN statistics. Clearly we should value the opinion of a bunch of sports forum posters over UN researchers. Obviously, we have to take all numbers with a grain of salt, but it's better than basing our opinions on pure conjecture. As to the topic on hand, the answer is clearly no. Chances are somewhere in the world there is a there is a crazy religious sect with far more violent doctrine. If the OP meant mainstream religions (and was not just trolling), it's hard to say. What time frame are we talking about and what can be fairly attributed to religion? For instance, can the genocide of native americans and slavery, both perpetrated by mostly Christians and often justified with Christian theology, be counted?
