Wade is regarded as a players coach. McNair sounded pissed at the press conf and specifically mentioned the fact that sometimes you have to be tough on the players. We all know that Kobe's presented too soft and didn't push enough accountability. That manifest itself in the penalties in the jags game. I think that was the last straw for McNair, that the players didn't fear Kobe's enough to stop making dumb plays. Wade is just as much a players coach. He's not getting the job. McNair is going to hire a hard ass. Which is good. Basically, McNair needs to change the culture and the coach needs to be aligned with JJ watts no nonsense no excuses personality. That coach then can get assistants who run the x and o stuff

Solomon: McNair needs to be more hands-on with Texans ... But when it comes to being a winning NFL owner, one with a successful team on the field, McNair has a ways to go. It's about time for the big guy to start acting like he is in charge. Hands-off doesn't mean eyes closed. Minimize mistakes The key is to hire the best people and give them the tools to do their jobs. But as soon as you recognize you have made a mistake in hiring, the smart thing, the right thing, is to move on. You don't want everybody walking around as if there were eggshells spread all over Reliant Park, but you don't want people to be so comfortable that a pitiful performance is rewarded with another chance, and another and another. That may have been Kubiak's downfall, his biggest negative as a head coach. As he liked to say, that was all on him. But as the owner, it is on McNair, too. Winning in the NFL is about limiting mistakes. The more important the position, the more costly each mistake. The owner isn't going to fire himself, but the Texans aren't going to win until he stops making mistakes and starts punishing others for theirs.
I don't think he reads message boards or listens to sports talk radio. If all coaches did that they would go insane.

hallelujah Finally! I am sure this is because enough is enough, but I think they don't want a coach who is trying to win out there during the next 3 games. Especially when two of three are away games. There are still 3 teams with 3 wins and winning 1 game can be the difference between picking 1st every round and alternating in the top 4 every round. Finish the tank job strong! Only win our last home game if it doesn't hurt us!
Haha! Why do you want this conservative coach who has no balls? Do you know how easy the game becomes for other coaches/players when they know what you won't do? It becomes so much easier to take away what you will do.
Might not be out of a job for too long. It'd be interesting if he landed a head coaching job so soon; I thought he'd have to became an OC for a least a few seasons. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Another coach the Buccaneers are considering is former Texans HC Gary Kubiak, per league sources.</p>— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) <a href="https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/statuses/417780580093554688">December 30, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Kubiak the offensive GM/offense re-builder may be good enough to get a job right away. Its the other things that cause questions... the in-game adjustments, the falling in love with a certain offensive style, the loyalty, the ability to motivate, the lack of taking accountability for the defensive side of the ball.
Wow, whenever you think things are bad in Houston the Bucs will totally make you grateful. I bet those fans are beyond hyped.
