Exactly. Some matchups require a different game plan. More ball movement and mid-range shots and less one-on-one, chucking up 3s and trying to take guys off the dribble and taking it to the hole or trying to draw fouls. And if Dwight is shut down, then we're really in trouble.

stop acting this is lins only bad game please. The guy has made only 10 of his last 34 field goal attempts. He has averaged a modest 3 assists as well to go with 3 turnovers in just under 30 minutes.Thats not going to cut it.If it wasn't for two good last quarters it would have been real ugly.

Harden has not been much better as he has gone for 11 of 34 from the field and a pathetic 2 of 15 from the 3point line.We were lucky we beat those two average teams had we played a really good team we would be on a 3 game slide.

Indeed but the players have to get away from the one on one ball. A lot of the times they ignore the game plan. It looked like they did that last night, ignored the original game plan that was set by the coach on both ends. Like I said before we lack focus, discipline and energy. It is clear as day when they play good teams like OKC, Pacers and Clippers. Shoots even when they lose to bad teams or allow bad teams to hang around. But hopefully after this season they will get it all together.

Only three players been consistent Parsons Jones and Howard. Last night Jones and Howard had terrible games. Everybody else have been playing like trash especially those two you named and Garcia.

Indiana lost by 24 to OKC on December 8 playing on a back to back. It wasn't a 3 in 4, and they had NO injuries.

Big blow outs happen when one team shoots lights out and the other team has an awful night. Even contenders.

OKC shot 45.5% from 3. Houston shot 25% from 3.
    OKC shot 57.3 FG%. Houston shot 36.5 FG%.

OKC has shot 35.3% from 3 and 47.1 FG% this season.
Houston has shot 34.6% from 3 and 47.4 FG% this season.

If Houston shoots 34.6% from 3 this game, then the game is 7 points closer.
If OKC shoots 35.3% from 3 this game, then the game is another 7 points closer.

Hopefully you can see where this is going...

We play OKC 4 times this season. The amount of knee jerk over a bad game is really mind boggling...

torocon fans will always be fans. The team loses big, some fans will over-react/ get pi&&ed/over analysis/ knee jerk resposes and etc. etc. Nothing wrong with that, LOL it's called being a fan.

The thing with Jeremy Lin is that certain plays make him look great and some play make him look like a scrub. You can pick and choose every possession but in the end it’s not going to cut it. He is great at 5 mil but once it hits the 15m, you need to get rid of him for that price. Lin is a good player in a non-Championship team but for a team who wants to win it all, not so much. Love Lin but he makes play that makes me want to shut off the TV more than any other player.

Your inklings were right on. The team had nothing in the tank and OKC played really, really well. McHale maybe should have sat Howard, Harden, Parsons and Lin. Why not? Let Brewer, Canaan, DMo have big minutes. AB had a good game, Casspi had a decent game and Garcia could have tried to get his shooting touch back.

The Rockets have looked this bad even on rested days, the reactions are not really knee jerk. Because people have been expressing these sentiments even before this game.

Let's also not forget that the team has been injury plagued all season.

    Harden's recurring ankle sprains.
    Parson's back spasms.
    Lin's knee sprain and back.
    Beverley's broken hand.
    Greg Smith's knee sprain.
Asik's thigh contusion and knee swelling.

    Multiple bouts of the flu.

And then there was the experiments with the TT line up.

21-12 is still a 63.6% win percentage. That would scale out to 52 wins which is well within the line of expectations.

    The team is *still* gelling.
There is a trade still brewing for Asik to strengthen the line up.
And the team is still nowhere near fully healthy.

All while playing one of the most brutal schedules in the NBA.

It's a long season and we're still putting up wins at a solid rate as the 5th youngest team in the NBA with a fatigued, injured, and incomplete roster.

I'd call the reactions pretty knee jerk.

Our bench is beyond depleted because of injury. We don't have enough players to play 48 mins without the starters. Also, it's cool when Pop does it because he actually plays his bench (beyond tht 8-man rotation) so they have repetition, and has a system in place that the bench just plugs in. Pop doesn't do it because it's a "scheduled-loss" he does it because he expects the bench to still win. If the Rockets do it, it's basically waving the white flag, which we should never do.

OKC was missing one of its Superstars, all teams go through injuries, but we have our core players If they are still injured then sit them until they get better or they might get worse. But we need to stop using that as an excuse. We almost lost to the Grizz the other night and they didn't have Marc Gasol. The Pelicans were on a back to back when they faced us on Saturday and it took a Miracle 4th quarter to beat them. This team was just fine when they beat San Antonio, sometimes they pick and choose when they want to play, that is lack of Leadership.

Also, none of what you said takes away from the fact that we have had threads and threads of people saying the same things they are saying here, that is not the definition of Knee-Jerk, it is just that they feel that their opinions are reinforced by the play of the last couple of nights. They may be right.

durant hit a 3 on harden, looked at mchale & staff and said HE CANT STOP ME !

Okc hates us because harden is here & because of bev/Westbrook, expect them to always have their highest energy against us especially at home when their FANS are wired & feel the same way
