Developing raw inexperienced players loses games, it's the main way teams tank.

So how many losses do you consider acceptable in developing him?

Same here. Jones has really won me over.

My favorite thing about Jones' game is how often he cleans up broken plays. It seems like he's always there for a tip-in or a bail-out dunk.

Jones improved his game, learned to fit in with his teammates, and earned his playing time. People need to stop making excuses for DMo.

Developing players doesn't mean you need to play them 30 mins.

They could get game experience playing 10-20.

No it doesn't but the NBA has put in a nice little developmental program called the D-League. Dmo played in the D-League, he also had his chance to be a starters last season. This year during the pre-season he had an golden opportunity to work his way into the rotation. That is all on him, dude just have to continue to work and hopefully it all pans out. But right now he hasn't earn any real quality minutes.

    JEREMY LIN

(On the play of first three quarters)

“It's definitely not the ideal plan or ideal strategy. I'm thankful that Coach McHale let me keep going. I was able to finally get a little bit of rhythm in the last two games. I have to do a much, much better job and be more aggressive in the first three quarters. “

It's interesting to hear Lin's own recognition that McHale has him on a leash, you wouldn't hear Parsons or Howard or Harden say this. It's also good that Lin recognizes that he needs to be more aggressive.

It's because they have an incredibly athletic shot blocker. That's why Lin and Harden didn't do much in the paint.

Sounds more like he recognized he played badly enough to be benched, which has happened to Harden this season.

    Pre,

we could also maintain the lead and make a run.

Nothing in life is certain. Even starters blow leads.

Nah. That is not all on D-Mo.

Our coaching staff plays an extremely short rotation of 8-9 players even when we were injury free.

But hopefully it pans out indeed. I just wish he has the same work ethic as Lin to work on his perceived and known weakneses during the off season.

Dmo could be a good stretch four or a back up center. And i am leaning more towards the stretch four position as he is taller than most pfs.

    I think it's a set offense.

Lin brings the ball up to see is there a fast break opportunity, if not, passes the ball to Harden and goes to the other side.

Harden and DH start the offense if there is nothing cooking swing the ball quickly to the other side and let Lin attacks the weak side.

Parsons and Lin are your 3rd and 4th best players and they flip-flop. Jones is emerging as a force overall but needs to play more to establish that. The Rockets have 4 impact players, Howard/Harden are your "stars" or "superstar" players and Parsons/Lin are your impact or stars-to-be players. Coaches say the same thing, that Parsons and Lin, not just one of them usually but both of them, are guys in addition to H and H that they prepare for and try to limit.

So I don't see a big 3 more than big 4 with the Rockets and that's how they were originally marketed.

Bev scores sometimes. He's had his games in the mid to upper teens and Lin's scoring sometimes is in the low to upper teens. It's not just the scoring. It's Lin's threat to create and break down the defense leading to easy baskets for his team mates in addition to his scoring and also how he runs the floor and leads fast breaks. And Lin gets big steals and plays late in the game where Bev gets big offensive rebounds keeping the ball alive or tip ins. Bev isn't useless out there and has hit big shots and made big plays in the 4th. It's just Lin has more offensive weapons while still being a pretty effective defensive player that most coaches wouldn't even question that he is the starter.

First 3 quarters, hot garbage. You are blind or just a LOF if you think otherwise. Scores 10 points in the 4 quarter. How about the first 3 quarters???

We still need to work on our bench. The starters we have on the floor right now is the one we should ride all the way till the of the season.
