I agree. Gotta give credit where its due. Lin with great defense last three games and clutch scoring in the 4th.

Nice win, but like the previous game, not a great game by the Rockets.

Garcia has heart and he's got the evil stare of death that I find both endearing and creepy.

But yeah, in retrospect Delfino would probably be doing a little better but isn't he out for a while with an injury right now...

The numbers may average out that way, but it feels like it's just him stepping up in the 4th (caused by not stepping it up earlier) that gives his numbers a bit of a boost to hit those averages.

He's had games like tonight and the Portland game where he hit 25% or 0% against Dallas and then others where he hits 71% (Charlotte). Not exactly consistent from game to game or quarter to quarter.

i think that was mchale's logic in putting lin with bench he could be primary scorer but i still think he can be starter. normally with a 0 pts after 3 quarters he would have gotten yanked....

    Response

I think this is Lin's tactic to make sure Mac lets him play in the 4th, by just showing up during the 4th quarter. :) At least, Lin showed he can suck for 3 quarters and still show up in 4th. To be fair, if you pulled out Harden after 3 quarters, everyone would be saying Harden messed up this game.

Maybe JHoliday and him neutralised each other.
Isnt JHoliday supposed to be a potential all star?

    On 3s…:(
    Harden 1-7
    Lin 2-5
    Brooks 1-5
    Casspi 1-3
    Garcia 0-4

One of the main purposes to bring on Casspi & Garcia was for them to help hit those 3s…just bad.

Harden & Lin started off shooting bad, but they came up with big 3s each late in the 4th… I guess that’s why you have these two guys in there late. Lin is playing some decent defense - tonight he started each half guarding Roberts, but then switched onto Holiday…both of them were kept quiet. In addition, he managed to dish out 5 assts with only 2 TOs.

4th game this week… I think after the two games against Spurs & Griz, most of the starters are running on fumes. Off the bench AB still had energy so he was trying to push the pace and gave Houston a bit of a spark, but that late tech from frustration was a bad reaction right when the team didn’t need to give up more points. Luckily the sequence from TJones, Lin, then Harden hitting consecutive baskets turned it around. Howard & TJones had another nice game. This team has showed some serious grit this week!!

Even without RW, tomorrow is going to be tough. A win against OKC is going to be a huge bonus for Houston this week. Howard needs to give the whole team some of that kryptonite juice. Was Parsons & Lin trying to get Ryan Anderson to buy in??

He's averaging over 14 ppg, with one of the highest shooting percentages on the team. We really shouldn't be remotely comparing that to Beverley's anemic scoring, passing and shooting percentages. It's not fair.

And a "bit" of D is a bit unkind considering the last 3 PG's... Parker, Conley and Holiday that have been up against Lin have ranged from shut down to awful games.

If Lin was consistently playing 4 quarters at his highest level of offensive play, he'd be a max player and we'd have had NO chance of signing him. He's young, has improved from last year, and should continue to improve for at least 2 more seasons if he sticks to normal curves of development.

And if you're going to be inconsistent, showing up in the 4th when the team is down is the *BEST* time to show up. Would you prefer a player that chokes hard in the 4th?

He's doing fine in terms of his development, and we're winning. And he shows up far more often during big games than not. Let's not act like Lin is a 9 year veteran... he's young and growing, just like the rest of the team.

Even after this bad shooting night, Lin is still number 2 in FG% per drive right behind a certain Lebron James.
