Abby Chin @tvabby Jarrett Jack just came back into the Garden and told Tristan Thompson the #Cavs are releasing Andrew Bynum.
Agreed and rep... people underestimate the power of peer or business related pressures these guys encounter everyday. I see money is not a issue to him, which is commendable in itself, but his happiness is worth this world's weight in gold. lets just hope morey can put something together where he can be a backup (10xbetter than Asik) or a pick or two for him before he is waived.
Response Understand the legal aspect. However, he should have put in a good faith effort. Very unprofessional. But if other teams are willing to get him, it's not as if NBA teams are dumb.
Doesnt fit our offensive system of up and down play with those shaky knees and bad attitude... Id rather have a upset Asik that will still go out there and play if he is on the team.
In what world would Cavs give us their 2014 1st pick??? They are tanking. They could just waive him before Jan. 7 and tank further or do a proper tank job and keep him on the roster suspended without pay for the rest of the year. They will just play Varejao. Cavs may consider a straight up Bynum - Asik trade. With Bynum possibly on the market, Asik's trade value just went down, not up.
You severely underestimate Asik's value. There is no way that Asik's value dropped as a result of the recent events, in fact his value raised as a result of multiple injuries to big men. Bynum is not going to start on any teams and his value is at an all time low. Rockets are trading Asik to teams that need a starting center, and Asik does not clash with Bynum in that aspect.
Since when were the Cavs tanking? They may suck but they aren't tanking. They're still trying to convince Kyrie Irving to stay and to convince Lebron that they are willing and able to build around him if he decides to go back (which won't happen). Holding out on upgrading their team due to a 1st round pick that they will use on a player like Bennet or Waiters is exactly the kind of moves that made Lebron go and will make Kyrie go as well.
Well, if this is true, its as I expected. No Asik - Bynum trade or picks or whatever fantasy everyone here is dreaming of. Cavs just waiving Bynum.
Not a reliable source, nor is it confirmed by any mainstream sources. The latest from ESPN... http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/10205361/next-step-andrew-bynum Seems like there's a lot going on behind closed doors...
In regards to the Heat eventually signing him - Ooooooh ... Bynum & Oden ... I'm shaking in my boots. What a formidable tandem of mastery.
