So you are saying he fails 37% of the time. Clearly he needs the help of the knowledgeable ClutchFans community.
Ho Ho Ho and Ha Ha Ha, the most hilarious post for a while. Still can't stop laughing and laughing...
So you agree with the rest of that post then, right? Anyways, FG% doesn't account for TO's from the drive attempts in which he never gets the shot (FG) off. This coincides with the small portion of the post you decided to quote. If Jeremy showed more control overall with his game few would say anything. He often ends up on the ground from being off balance in mid air. Again, nice layups. Plus, he ends on the ground many times. Potential injury is an issue. Dude isn't built like Wade. You probably won't believe, but I like Lin. I want all Rockets players to do well. Just not going to front for them.
Nooooo, you're not being fair. 1) The right hand layup is done while doing a 180.... and 2) your left must be good (or whatever level Lin fans thinks his is). Not saying it's impossible to do it right-handed, just saying it's not as simple as shooting it left hand.
Why does he have to do a "reverse layup." That's so very thug basketball, that's reserved for the inner city players. Being boastful like that is sinful, and there is no need to show off Mr. Lin. Two handed chest pass, please.
Your argument would be more compelling if you actually knew what you were talking about instead of bringing up a scenario and then skewing the "facts" towards your own prejudices. If you can define the scenario, why not look up the numbers? They're available for everyone to see. Otherwise, your opinion is just that - an opinion. Don't present it as some sort of demonstrable fact when you aren't even willing to do the basic legwork. A drive is a drive. It includes everything, not just shot attempts. Also, if turnovers had such a huge negative impact, then it would show up in these other numbers as well. As of today, Lin is: 7th in PTS Per 48 Min on Drives (8.3) 8th in Team PPG on Drives (9.5) 16th (tied) in Player PPG on Drives (5.2) ...for all players with a minimum of 100 drives this season (52 players total). Both the player and the team wouldn't be accumulating so many points (a turnover = 0 points) if he was just dropping the ball every time. By the way, the team points is actually a huge deal, because it shows that he's able to draw defensive attention and free up others to shoot whenever he drives. So yes, even including the glaring chink in his armor, the veritable stinky in his tofu, even including all the horrible drives to his left which he never does and can't make even if he did, Lin is one of the best at getting into the paint and making buckets. Period.
Don't worry guys, if Lin missed the 2nd, don't you see DMo crashing in and ready for a tip-in? -DMO unleashed-
You mean, something like this? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/l_TP50AZ5KE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Nah, actually your stats only prove my theory. The initial post (see below) I responded to pitted Lin at "#1 efficiency (FG-wise)" Now you post stats that drop Lin to 7th and 8th efficiency. TO's were likely a factor.. which goes to my exact point of playing more under control overall. Also, the definition of "drive" you provided says dribbles from 20' to <10'. So it doesn't account for dribbles that ended before it got to 10'... perhaps, IDK say a, TO!! Bottomline, left hand was easier (more under control, stronger). There's no denying that. Making lame arguments against someone who has no agenda isn't smart. Already stated several times the layups were nice... post #4 (my initial post) said this.. Nice layups. Webber was like "whoa!". _______ OVERALL, Lin has had a very good season... all TRUE Rocket fans hope it continues.
Enjoyed the GIF. The reverse layup is Lin's go to move. Nothing out of the ordinary. Lin has shown he can drive left and layup with his left. No need to ruin this thread with statistic debate on something that is working.
What is it about Lin that every facial expression and every move is analyzed to death? Just enjoy the ride. He's a good player and can ball. Hopefully he becomes a top ten PG in the league in a couple of years.
