watching and playing football is a sin. and eating bacon. that's okay though, I forgive my pigskin-touching and pork-eating brothers, it's their cross to bear, that weird f**king deviant lifestyle i hope they turn it around otherwise they WILL burn in hell
I'm glad I don't live in the middle ages where I could get persecuted, beaten, and hanged for blasphemy. I bet some people would love to go back to a time where piety was at its highest and religion dominated every arena of life.
Atheists are good if they do good, Pope Francis says Atheists should be seen as good people if they do good, Pope Francis said Wednesday in his latest urging that people of all religions — or no religion — work together. link
I think the problem is that A and E sort of claims itself to be "arts". They also were having their ten minutes of fame and had actually entered the awareness of folks beyond the typical reality show crowd. Most folks who like the arts aren't as backward as these folks. I saw Mylie Cyrus on and she was glad her twerking episode got her so much publicity. Similarly the duck call guy will probably be glad in the end. Hey let these folks have their own show or perhaps their own channel. Maybe the duck call boys and girls can move to Fox where nobody watching would be upset.
looks like pretty much all neocons have the tendency to comment without actually reading something. Phil Robertson defender Sarah Palin admits to not having read his interview
Good lord! I sure as hell did. I witnessed "White's Only" signs by the entrance to the city park pool in the Southeast Houston neighborhood where I grew up. "White's Only" signs on the water fountains. I often rode on the city bus to Foley's downtown with my grandmother on Saturday mornings, when she'd take me there to do a little shopping and eat lunch. The Black Houstonians were jammed in the back, with an open seating area between them and the far fewer Whites sitting in the front. I heard incredibly racists comments all the time from the working class Whites I had jobs with while going to college. I ate at restaurants that didn't allow Blacks a table, or a seat at the counter. Just because you've lived a shorter life than I have, and probably a more sheltered one, doesn't mean that discrimination doesn't exist today as it did back then, when it was literally in your face. It's more subtle now, depending on where you live. There are still plenty of areas of this country where discrimination in rampant. It's rampant in Texas, where a Republican legislature discriminates against Latino and Black Texans by gerrymandering the hell out of House districts. Of course, the Republicans in power here call it something else. They call it politics as usual. The Republicans I know personally don't discriminate, but the candidates winning their primaries are far different than they are. With all due respect, I think you should get out more, not spend so much time defending those who's mentality is still rooted in a United States of 50 years ago, and open your damn eyes. Ignorance isn't really bliss. It's a lack of knowledge. And going out of your way to defend those who help continue discrimination in this country in the media, or anywhere else, says more about you than it does about them.
That's because you're old, real old. You no doubt grew up in a time filled with racial problems. The Millennial generation which I am a part of, is the most diverse generation of all time. We are tired of your generation always bringing up racism.
Go out into Jersey Village and bring up Obama's name and then count how long it takes someone to drop an n-bomb. I live in Jersey Village and see it all the time at my local watering hole. I actually saw a drunk white POS call someone a n***** to his face 3 weeks ago. You people claming to never has witnessed discrimination must not have ever traveled in Texas.
victory for the good guys... A&E caved under the pressure. Phil and the team are coming back http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/a-e-welcomes-phil-robertson-667647
A&E made the right business move to reinstate him. The family won't do the show without Phil as he's a central figure to the family. A&E did make themselves out to be idiots, though. Putting Phil on suspension to appease the LGBT crowd is such a small minority to the fanbase of Duck Dynasty, and now they clearly paid for it by the backlash from the fanbase. Now they pissed off the LGBT crowd by reinstating Phil and look spineless to both parties.
false choice You failed in establishing that Phil was either bigoted or racist. you can't try to chime in now acting like you proved that, because you did not.
