Man, he sure shut down Harden who had 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Impossible to shutdown anyone when you can't sneeze on the player without a foul being called.

Well, he could have stayed in front of him. That would have helped.

Exactly.. Haters gonna hate I guess. Harden is good at being shifty and getting his man off balanced.

lol homers if you think he wasn't gifted calls tonight. Probably the same ones complaing about the fouls Durant was getting in the playoffs last year.

It's flatout sickening seeing the bogus calls Durant, Harden, and Kevin Martin(used) get.

It's truly disgusting how differently he is reffed than most wings. I mean, I guess it's smart for him to take advantage of it but the drive & flail is just as much a non basketball play as the flop.

It's on the defender to keep him out of the paint. Basic defense.

You can't let anyone just roam aruond in your paint and NOT expect him to go to the line.

Harden literally blew past whoever was guarding him. Not sure what else you expected?

I don't blame him for dong it just like I don't blame Durant for doing it. If the refs are dumb enough to give you the call then use it to your advantage.

It's just sickening to watch them get them calls. Also laughable if people think they aren't getting bogus calls.

Funny thing is when Harden is defending and someone blows past him it is 'bad defense!'

When he does it to someone else it doesn't count somehow and people make it seem like any player can do what he does.

If what Harden does is so cheap and easy then where is the long list of players that can do it?

Harden definitely has a gift for initiating contact and drawing a foul without even the intention of making a basket. It is a flaw in the way the game is officiated that this is a valid play, but it isn't "wrong" of him to take advantage of it (just like it isn't "wrong" to hackashaq"). They really do need to change the rule that contact initiated by the offense isn't a defensive foul though.

maybe the defenders should stay in front of these players?

What Harden and Durant do is no different than what Lebron or Wade (in his prime) do.

If you can get into the paint and to the line you do so.

I find it laughable that people make it seem like it is easy and cheap to do.

Durant and Harden initiates the contract most of the time. It was also pathetic when Wade got those calls in the Mavs series too. Just because Lebron and Wade got those calls in their primes doesn't make it right. Not even sure LeBron got calls like that.

But hey since these cheaps fouls they get are on the defender maybe they can educate Carmelo Anthony how to get these calls since he is beat on with no foul call pretty much everytime he drives to the basket

Also saying the defender should stay in front of the offensive player is well pathetic, half of the time they are in front of them You do know when Durant does he's little bring his arm under the defender shot attempt where they call a foul the defender is staying right in front of him. You do know that right? I mean that type of foul is impossible to get if the defender is behind Durant.

It isn't easy, but it is definitely cheap. Harden just throws himself into the lane with the whole intention of getting the whistle. His game is basically that move and the three ball. Wade certainly did his share of flailing but at least he accompanied it by a killer midrange game and you didn't get the impression that he was just trying to get the call. Lebron has never been about the whistle... he's just impossible to stop.

Yet Harden also gets a ton of and-1 plays so both can't be true. Pretty sure him and Durant were leaders in and-1 plays last season...
