Remember when Magic Johnson started the All Star game after he had retired?

Lin and Parsons have been playing fantastic basketball this season both are definitely deserving of being in the ASG.

Wow. One can only hope that the vocal element of CF is extremely unrepresentative of the actual Houston Rockets fan base.....

Kobe having so many votes is very much like the year McGrady and Iverson were voted in.

It is embarrassing to see Lin have more votes than Harden, Parker and Lillard.

It will be great if Parsons can get into the top 10 for forwards.

He had aids remember, his involvement in that game was bigger than the game itself.

He's still relatively unknown outside Houston.

Harden, Dwight and Lin all have factors as to why they're relevant in the voting process.

Parsons is to Houston as Kawhi Leonard is to SA - both are super duper rising stars, but relative unknowns outside their respective cities.

Why would it be embarassing for Lin to have more devoted fans than Harden? Being better does not necessary mean people will like you more, and that is what fans AS voting is.

While I think Lin is playing at a very high level he's still not better than cp3, curry and lillard. I don't think the coaches will put more than 3 PGs. Harden will 100% be on the Allstar team, he's on every NBA commercial and is top 5 in scoring. I don't think any top 5 scorer has ever not made it. Howard will be starting and he deserves it he's the best big man in the world and is playing at a level on other player in the nba can play at. He's too big to string and too skilled.

Lin would be an all star if he was still in NY. Why are people so annoyed about this?

Unlike last year, he's actually playing well this time around anyway.

The All-Star Game voting is a pure popularity contest. That's all it is. Trying to say who is "deserving" and who isn't is besides the point. If the NBA wanted "deserving" players go get spots, then they would set up the rules such that those players would go to the game. Instead, they've turned it into a popularity contest. Being an All-Star is, by definition, being popular. It has nothing to do with skill or ability or production or "deservedness" (whatever that quality may be in your mind).

What some of you want isn't the All-Star Game. What you want is the "Best Players in the NBA" Game. Or the "Best Active Players in the NBA" Game. Or the "Players Who Contribute the Most Wins to Their Team While Playing At Least 40 Minutes" Game.

Might as well call it the "This is Who I Think in My Head Should Be an All-Star and Your Opinions are Dumb" Game.

I find it incredibly interesting how people interpret the voting of those who don't match their opinions. It's like some sort of basketball-based Rorschach test.

All those pgs play more minutes than Lin. One of the reasons his stats suffer. He plays most nights only 27 minutes. Whereas Curry, Westbrook , and Lilliard play 35 - 40 minutes.

Only thing embarrassing is this post. Allstars is purely a marketing tool so use it that way....you want Harden, Parker, and Lillard? Vote for them!

I already did. I don't care since he's playing and he's popular which is the rule set.

You are wrong, the fans are never right, not this year, not any year

that's why you see retired players like Yao Ming being voted in, Trash players like Kobe this year being voted in, Washed up iverson playing in Detroit being voted in etc. etc.
