I've been criticizing Lin as well and the Rockets other PGs. However, in the Spurs game he played really delightful BB. Really smart and effective. If he continues like this, he will be a major player for the team regardless if he starts or not. He finally showed that he is worth the money he gets.

Keep up the good work, JLin!

I think Lin is as good as he was in Linsanity. His usage rate is far lower as he loses the number one touches to Parsons, Harden, and Howard.

You won't win a championship with Lin as your number one option. You rarely do when your PG is just that.

this is the reason most people do not understand Lin. they want him to be the distributor and "less scoring" but then it takes away Lin's best attribute.

Lin does turn the ball over when he is aggressive and drives to the basket. but the guy also shoots 57% on two point shots and over 60% in drives to the basket. he gets to the line 5.2 times a game and has a ridiculous 1.59 pps which is better than harden and in the "big man" range. he also still averages only 9.2 shots per game so he isn't taking shots away from others. that's like 1/9th of all team shots per game. didn't jones shoot 20 times yesterday?

you want lin to be aggressive and take the ball to the basket but you need to have the other players be in the right offensive sets to take advantage either by PNR or cutting to the basket or being at their proper spot. that way lin (or harden) when they drive has just as much opportunities to pass the ball than to shoot the ball.

lin's asset is his OFFENSE and if you don't use it you're not using lin to his fullest potential. it's the same as putting Beverly in the starting lineup and tell him he's the starting PG and run the team. that's the issue I have with Beverly starting. it's trying to take someone with certain assets and make them someone who they aren't.

not saying Beverly can't develop into a really good PG. but one you're giving him the ball and saying you're the PG so why can't you do the same with lin OR you're putting Beverly in and saying you're not the ballhandler, harden is so Beverly isn't really developing his PG skills.

Houston is in a "win-now" scenario but they are also very young so you need to still develop the talent and that includes everyone - howard, harden, parsons, lin, Beverly, jones, etal. if you don't, you will see harden and howard and perhaps parsons surrounded with a litany of role players that every year will change. sorry but harden and howard are not Jordan/pippen or LeBron/wade or kobe/shaq. the only way that Houston is to win a championship is to play as a team, not a couple of all stars and role players.

A welcome and much needed win indeed. Let's hope for a solid performance against the Grizzlies.

I think we all know lins best ability is to score but that's the problem we don't need all of his scoring but that doesn't mean he can't contribute. 15-20 points for Lin is good enough?. That's all we need from him and at times when we need his scoring he can step up. We need him to pass like he was doing last regardless if were not using his full scoring ability. I think get at least 15 points out of Lin every night is pretty good if I say so myself. Lin showed he could pass so he might as we'll keep it up. I think we're using just fine.

good points, i was thinking i'd come to the board today and see all was well....still some minor flare ups but basically as long as the rockets keep winning everyone should get along ok...it's just when we lose a game or 2 against teams we should beat and i start seeing the craziest statements on this board about players.

Based on your posts here, you don't support the rockets at all.

Every board is the same. I come here to enjoy the game thread, but it is near impossible with some of the emotional ones. I don't know how but I feel like losses effect some people for days on here. I followed a game thread against the Blazers when we lost a tight one in Portland and I could have sworn we lost by 50 via game thread. Funny stuff.

I can see why this team is so dangerous offensively when JLin is your 4th option. If the Rockets can buy into the defensive theme like last night, they are going to go deep in the playoff.

But.....they gota fix the bench tho, Asik gota play

Based on your posts you are the kind of person that attacks the poster rather than the substance of their arguments and based on that I really don't care what you think, nor do I require your validation of my support of the rockets.

You support one player on the rockets.
Can you find Houston on a map of Houston?

Are you a mind reader? You can go back and read my posts and see my support for Harden and Howard as well as Asik on plenty of occasions. But I have absolutely no inclination to justify my support to anyone least of all someone that resorts to this kind of low level intellectual bullying witch huntry.

Your arguement is. 'I don't like what you're saying, so I'm going to accuse you of being a bad guy/fake/dishonest/ and attack you personally to discredit you rather than deal with the substance of your argument.'

To me, this is an act of cowardice.

Why are you still answering to him and bringing the quality of the forum down? Do you think he is going to suddenly change his attitude and be respectful? Do you think he is going to stop with the personal attacks and start discussing basketball? Just ignore him and move on.

None. Beating your wife is domestic violence and is punishable by law.

It's not California where you can be OJ Simpson and get away with murder or it's not New York where you can be Elliot spritzer and cheat on your wife and then get a job on cnn!

Agree. Jeremy doesn't need 20 points every night but that doesn't mean he can't step up when our Superstars can't bring their A games. I love how he played in the Spurs game. Great defense, under control, less turn over, and being efficient.
